Frunzensky Bridge is constructed ahead of time

Frunzensky Bridge is constructed ahead of time. This was the conclusion of the field meeting supervised by the Governor of Samara Region Dmitry Azarov and held at the facility recently. At the event, representatives of local authorities and JSC STG discussed current operations and future tasks of construction completion for this infrastructure object of strategic importance to the region.

Currently, builders are preparing for superstructure lowering onto carriages for the bridge over Samara river, which is a part of the Frunzensky bridge facility system. As the head of Construction Management Group of the Project, Konstantin Agalakov, noted, “this year, superstructure assembled earlier, with a total weight of 9,208 tons, will be lowered onto all 8 supports. This operation requires ultimate concentration and extra precision from the specialists.” Road surface slab concreting is planned for 2019.

In parallel, construction of other facilities of the bridge crossing goes on, including transport junctions in Frunze street, Shosseynaya street and at the main motorway. Works of earth bed filling, flood-prone part reinforcement, utility network and communications arrangement are underway, and the bottom pavement layer is laid at one of the sections. Over 400 workers in two shifts are involved in operations at the facility. About 100 machine units are used.

If construction financing schedule is met, routine six-lane traffic can be launched at the facility in the fall of 2019 already, and all documents required for Frunzensky Bridge commissioning will be executed before the end of the next year.
