JSC Stroytransgaz starts construction of cultural and educational complex facilities in Kaliningrad

Basement slab of the choreographic academy training building

Permit for construction of a number of facilities included in cultural and educational complex on Oktyabrsky Island in Kaliningrad was issued in early October 2019. Upon documents receipt, the new contractor, JSC Stroytransgaz (STG), had mobilized its own resources and promptly proceeded to further construction of the facilities. Currently, STG has accepted the first 1385 cubic meters of concrete.

Works are carried out at several facilities simultaneously: concrete has been poured into slabs (basement) of the choreographic academy building, academy boarding school (between the first and second floors), boarding school of the music school (between the second and third floors), as well as into vertical structures (frame) of music and general education schools (walls and columns of the first floor). Preliminary, STG has installed reinforcing frames and formwork structures. In total, over 11,000 cubic meters of concrete will be poured into the facilities cast-in-situ structures. This volume of construction mix may be used to erect 115 floors of a multi-apartment residential tower. Following the concrete works STG will start constructing external, internal walls and partitions from blocks and ceramic bricks, waterproofing works, installation of walls and door apertures, as well as laying of internal and external utilities required for building operation.

At the same time, preparatory works on the foundation of the future museum complex are carried out. Pile sinking will commence in the near future. This will provide stability of the foundation and the building.

In total, over 400 workers and almost 30 units of special equipment are engaged at the construction site. With the increase of construction scope, the number of engaged employees and equipment will grow.
