STG Finished Overhaul of Dedinovskaya Ferry Site

Stroytransgaz JSC (STG) has finished overhaul operations on the Dedinovskaya ferry site across the Oka river in Dedinovo village of Lukhovitsy urban district in Moscow region. On November 1, 2019, ceremonial opening of the ferry site took place. Traffic using the completely repaired ferry site was started by Vladimir Nikolayevich Barsukov, Head of Lukhovitsy urban district in Moscow region.

The customer was the State-Financed Institution MR “Mosavtodor” controlled by the Department for Transport and Road Infrastructure of Moscow Region.

“Today’s event is very significant. We start operation of the ferry site. In this respect, I would like to sincerely thank to the Governor of Moscow Region, Andrey Yurievich Vorobyev. First and foremost, Dedinovskaya ferry site is very important for local residents. Here, over the Oka river, there are many enterprises for which ferry site operation is economically beneficial. The ferry is an important traffic component which allows heavy haul vehicles cross the river. I would like to express our gratitude to the Governor, Government of Moscow region, State-Financed Institution MR “Mosavtodor”, our construction contractor, which kept its word and completed the overhaul in time, without even one day of delay!” said Vladimir Nikolayevich Barsukov at the opening ceremony.

Alexander Sergeevich Aleksandrov, Head of the Service for man-made structures in State-Financed Institution MR “Mosavtodor”, added on his behalf: “For my part, I would like to express my gratitude to both builders and designers and the administration of Lukhovitsky District for their assistance. Without any assistance it would be difficult to repair such a significant facility in due time. The ferry site is very important for Lukhovitsky District.”

The ferry was in operation for 25 years and was in a critical conditions, repair of the jetty and approach ways was required as well. The ferry site is a single fast and convenient way to cross the 350 meters wide river for Dedinovo settlement residents. The ferry is designed for 50 passengers and 30 passenger cars as well as for transportation of trucks and machinery. The total carrying capacity of the ferry is 260 tons.

The works also included reinforcement of both banks of the river and installation of composite handrails, which will be easily removed during the ice drift. In summer the ferry carries over about 1,200 vehicles per day.
