General Director of STG JSC Reported to the Governor on the Implementation of Projects in the Perm Territory

Existing bridge over the Chusovaya river

On December 4, Maksim Reshetnikov, Governor of the Perm territory, held a business meeting with Mikhail Khryapov, General Director of JSC Stroytransgaz, to discuss the implementation of projects in the region, i.e. the construction of the bridge over the Chusovaya river and its approaches and the renovation of the Bolshoye Savino airport.

Construction of the bridge over the Chusovaya river and its approaches

In November 2017, JSC Stroytransgaz won the tender and signed the contract with Perm Concession Company (PKK) LLC for the renovation and construction of road facilities in the Perm territory, including the erection of a new bridge over the Chusovaya river. The project is being implemented under a concession agreement. The bridge over the Chusovaya river is an important item of infrastructure of the region.

The new bridge will be the twin to the existing one that is 1.5 km long. It will be spaced 18 meters away from the existing bridge and will eventually take half of the transport load.

The work at the facility is in full swing. The erection of the cargo berth, service lanes No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 has been already completed. Service lane No. 2 and the retaining walls along the assembly areas are being built.

The first out of 14 piers of the new bridge is being erected, with bore piles being driven thereunder. To install the piers of the main bridge, service (temporary) bridges need to be built on the left and right banks of the river. Currently, eight piers of the temporary bridge have been installed on the left bank, and the gangway is being mounted near pier No. 2. The construction of the new bridge will involve two techniques simultaneously, i.e. watercraft and a temporary bridge.

Further to the discussion, the Governor ordered Mikhail Syutkin, Deputy Chairman of the Government, to introduce the quality control of construction by the regional authorities and Rostekhnadzor. According to the head of the region, the facility is being built for decades, therefore all must be built properly.

Furthermore, the construction of other bridge crossing facilities on both river banks is in progress.

Preparatory works have been completed for the overpass PK90 (Pal’niki), bore piles are being driven for pier No. 7.

It is expected that, once the new bridge is completed, all traffic will be moved to it for one season. This time will be spent on the renovation of the existing bridge. In addition, the road sections on both banks will be reconstructed and two-level interchanges will be built. The implementation of this project will finish the major reconstruction of the transport corridor that connects the Perm territory with the neighbouring regions. In particular, the distance between Perm and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area will be reduced by 350 km.

The new bridge and its approaches are expected to be completed by 2022.

Renovation of the Bolshoye Savino airport

JSC Stroytransgaz is renovating the utility structures of the Bolshoye Savino airport complex that is located 15 km from Perm. The client is Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Civil Airports (Aerodromes) Administration”. The project is being implemented under the Federal Target Program “Development of the Russian Transportation System”.

All the works are being carried out in the territory of the new airport terminal that was commissioned in November 2017, however its operations are inefficient due to the lack of ground infrastructure. A new apron for three aircraft with an area of 20,315 sq. m, an avant-apron with an area of 4200 sq. m and a taxiway with a length of 578 m will be built. The scope of work also includes the renovation of the existing apron with an area of 11,235 sq. m, taxiway No. 3 with a length of 287 m and drainage facilities, the dismantling of old navigational lighting aids and the installation of new ones, the installation of aerodrome signs and apron lighting.

Installation of light towers on the airport terminal apron

So far, according to the updated design solution, the lower layer of concrete has been applied to the apron. The asphalt concrete pavement of the avant-apron is ready to a large extent. In addition, light towers and drainage facilities have been completed. According to the technique, applying the top concrete layer at a negative temperature is prohibited, therefore these works will start when the temperature rises above zero. Since works cannot be done at the junction to the taxiway TW-2 because of the current operation of the airport, International Airport ‘Perm’ JSC divided the project into phases and developed a relevant schedule with the completion of construction and installation works in August 2020.

Preparation for concreting the drainage facilities

The completed renovation will make it technically feasible to install passenger boarding bridges and receive the high-capacity 4th and 5th class aircraft, such as Boeing 667 and Boeing 777. The implementation of the project will generally allow increasing the total traffic capacity of the Perm air haven to a maximum of 2 mln people per year.
