Photo Report on Construction of the Museum, Theatrical and Educational Complexes in Kaliningrad

The facilities are being built at two sites – Eastern and Western – located on each side of the Kaliningrad stadium that was erected on the Oktyabrsky island for the FIFA World Cup 2018.

Over 1350 people, i.e. workers, linear engineering technicians, and administrative personnel, are involved in the construction. The facility uses almost 70 construction equipment units. To make it on time, the works are carried out in parallel and in 2 shifts.

Eastern site

The eastern site will include the choreographic academy, the music school and boarding schools, the blocks of flats for teachers and artists, as well as the regular school, their buildings being interconnected by the galleries at the first floor level. In addition, the Eastern site will accommodate the hall of residence for the higher school of theatrical art, and the residential spaces for the students.

Currently, one of the buildings, i.e. the music boarding school, is almost ready: the in-situ concreting is completed by 100%, the walls and partitions are built by 71%.

The blocks of flats in buildings Nos. 1 and 5 are being built in parallel. The specialists started building the utility networks.

The Eastern site buildings shall be built and commissioned in 2020.

Western site

The Western site will accommodate the Opera and Ballet Theatre for 950 seats (branch of the Bolshoi Theatre), the Higher School of Musical and Theatrical Arts, and a museum complex.

Static pile tests

Nowadays, the static pile tests are being carried out here as part of the geological engineering survey. The tests are intended to identify the required geometric dimensions of pile elements as well as the method of construction of the pile foundation. The installation of the site office has been completed.
