Video review of the construction of museum and theatre-educational complex in Kaliningrad

Since autumn 2019, Stroytransgaz has been building museum and theatre-educational complexes in several Russian cities, acting as a general contractor. The facilities are being created under the order of V. V. Putin, President of the Russian Federation, within the framework of the “Culture” national project, enabling the residents to reveal their cultural and educational potential by “granting the access to main treasures of art”.

Construction of facilities in Kaliningrad is underway on two sites – Eastern and Western – located on both sides of the Kaliningrad stadium, which was erected on Oktyabrsky Island for the FIFA World Cup 2018. The total area of buildings under construction in the complex will reach over 118,000 sq.m.

Monolithic works have been completed in five of the six educational buildings and dormitories located on the Eastern site. In all six buildings works on construction of inner and outer walls, partitions, finishing works and roofing installation are in progress. Construction of internal and external utility networks on the site is underway. In a short time, the educational buildings of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography will be opened here as well as those of the Central Music School at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky with concert halls and boarding schools, a dormitory for students and a comprehensive school for 550 schoolchildren, including a swimming-pool. 5 residential high-rise block of flats are being built for performing artists, teachers and other specialists.  

By the end of 2023, branches of the Bolshoi Theatre and the State Tretyakov Gallery will begin work on the Western site. Currently, the foundation bed is being reinforced at the future location of the cultural centres.

Every day over 700 people – workers, engineers and technicians – work at the construction site.
