Digital Transformation of Stroytransgaz Group of Companies

This week Stroytransgaz JSC participated in the XIth Innovation Forum InfoSpace http://www.forum-infospace.ru/ru/ for the first time.

Oksana M. Yezerskaya, Adviser for Change Management, made a presentation on a dedicated online platform at a Plenary Session on the business agenda: Digital Leadership of STG in the Construction Industry: Today’s Challenges and Perspectives for 2024. The presentation was also given to all the managers at an operational meeting with the General Manager.

Global digital revolution is already underway, while the construction industry is traditionally slow to perceive all the changes; the same holds good for digital transformation. STG, like a number of other companies, has been facing challenges which should be responded to in an updated strategy with account of the new paradigm of digital economy. Digitalization is not a software product which can be bought, it is a challenge for the company’s management. These challenges set higher requirements for operational performance of the company, impose new limitations, both financial and legislative, and bring overall changes to the environment in which Stroytransgaz JSC operates. The company is committed to gain the market share and revenue by expanding its presence in the priority disciplines of the construction market, where it can exert a major impact on the industry thanks to its readiness to implement rapidly developing technologies and to become a digital leader.

Implementation of the goals will require a complete reset and employees ready for the changes and digital adaptation, creation of a corporate in-house culture as basis for digital transformation, to embrace the rate of changes. Digital economy should be understood as a set of tools which one should master and learn to value one another’s time. The essence of digital leadership consists not only in an external but, first of all, in an internal client-oriented approach, where all employees are clients to one another. First and foremost, digital culture means a high rate of information exchange with minimum time spent on reading and processing. Digital interfacing implies high involvement of personnel in solving management tasks of the company and joint responsibility for a high quality result.

Therefore, the company’s management has decided to launch digital transformation of the holding. A modernized, digital-based management system will improve in-house processes, will speed up data processing and right decision making, will give impetus to the company’s development and will affect it in general. The General Manager requires that this job be closely followed up. The new discipline will be headed by Pavel P. Fedyayev, Director for Digital Development and Coordination in Construction. His task is to achieve performance growth, to reduce costs, and to increase sales and the market share of GK STG due to implementation of digital transformation.

The InfoSpace forum was attended by representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, managers of Russian and foreign industrial enterprises, state corporations: Rostec, Roskosmos, Rosatom, ROSNANO, RZHD PJSC, VEB RF, Mechel PJSC, Rosseti PJSC and other major companies, as well as well-known scientists, leading experts, representatives of the largest industry associations and non-profit organizations.
