STG opened a new pedestrian overpass in Krasnogorsk for pedestrian convenience

Construction of a pedestrian overpass over the Ilyinskoye highway

On Tuesday, July 7, STG opened a new pedestrian overpass as part of the final construction stage of a multi-level interchange in Krasnogorsk. Technical opening of the pedestrian overpass was necessary to complete the reconstruction of 300 m of Ilyinskoye Highway roadbed.

Now the landscaping works and painting of concrete structures are ongoing. The pedestrian overpass was constructed to meet the conditions of barrier free environment and allows residents of the Krasnogorsk district to safely cross the Ilyinskoe Highway. Now pedestrians can walk from the Krasnogorsk-Plaza Business Centre towards the Building No. 2 on Pavshinskaya Street. Due to the pedestrian overpass the traffic on Ilyinskoye Highway will become safer and faster as the traffic lights will be shut down.

As part of Moscow Oblast State Program "Development and Functioning of the Road and Transport Complex", several more pedestrian walkways were opened around the Krasnogorskaya interchange: an overpass (used for the exit of passengers at the new Penyagino MCD station) and an underpass across the Volokolamskoye Highway.

The main goal of the construction of the largest Moscow Oblast interchange with a developed system of exits (16 units) and pedestrian walkways is a convenient, fast and safe management of traffic and pedestrians movement, which will solve the complicated transport situation in Krasnogorsk, increasing the traffic capacity of the Volokolamskoe Highway towards Moscow, and towards the Oblast.
