The reconstruction of the Mashinostroitel central city stadium in Pskov by Stroytransgaz JSC is at full throttle. Currently, the reconstruction is at the final stage.

We would like to bring to your attention photo and video reports on Mashinostroitel stadium reconstruction in July 2020.

The Mashinostroitel stadium is located in the historical part of Pskov city; it was built in 1953 for now-defunct football club of the same name; at different times the stadium was known as ‘Spartak’ and ‘Trudovye Rezervy’.

As part of the first stage of the Mashinostroitel central city stadium reconstruction, the following works are provided: dismantling of existing buildings and fences, construction of an administrative building with ticket offices, buildings of a large stand (with a capacity of 2,220 spectators) and a small stand (with a capacity of 2,053 spectators). The under-stand spaces of the large and small stands shall include: locker rooms, showers, bathrooms and coaching rooms for football players, an athletics hall, a fencing hall, a hall for physical loads, aerobics halls with a number of auxiliary facilities required. The administrative building with ticket offices shall include: two ticket offices, a security post, a luggage office, a medical aid station; on the second floor of the building, the project provides premises for a recovery centre for sportsmen and a cafe for 50 seats.

The project also provides for reconstruction of a large football field with running tracks and athletics sectors, installation of stadium fencing, laying of site utility lines (utility and storm sewers, heating mains, power supply networks, electrical lighting networks, communication networks), as well as arrangement of driveways and sidewalks.

On June 19, Mikhail Vedernikov, the Governor of the Pskov Region, inspected the progress of the Mashinostroitel stadium reconstruction. Along with Mikhail Vedernikov, the facility was visited by: Vasily Osipov, the Vice-Governor, Alexander Bratchikov, the Head of the Pskov Administration, and his Deputy Alexander Konovalov. Yuriy Strelkov, the Project Director, demonstrated the scope of work performed. Mikhail Vedernikov noted that Marat Khusnullin, the Deputy Prime Minister, will be invited to the opening of the stadium.

Currently, work has been completed on construction of foundations, monolithic structures, mounting of metal roofing structures, erection of external walls and internal partitions, roofing, interior rough finishing of large and small stand buildings, and an administrative building with ticket offices. Construction of the football field base with a drainage was completed, the existing cover of the running tracks and sectors was dismantled.

As part of the stadium reconstruction, the following works were also performed: installation of a parking cover (lower layer) and a fence monolithic foundation, installation of gates, erection of external engineering utilities for water supply and sewerage, power supply and electric lighting; reconstruction of the heating main.

At the moment, work is underway on interior finishing, facade finishing, erection of engineering systems (mechanical, electrical and low-current), installation of terminal devices in an administrative building with ticket offices and buildings of large and small stands, arrangement of driveways, paths and sidewalks, as well as installation of the running track base. Fence construction is in the final stage. In the near future, construction of surface drainage and artificial turf for the football field and track-and-field sectors will be started. The construction site involved 10 units of equipment and 171 personnel.

Major work on the stadium reconstruction is scheduled to be completed in the 4th quarter 2020. After the reconstruction, the Mashinostroitel stadium will become a place for training highly qualified sportsmen, mass physical culture and sports work, health-improving physical training and activities, as well as a place for cultural events. The stadium will be able to host competitions at the level of the 2nd division of the National Football Championship (PFL).
