STG develops regions by supporting local producers

Stroytransgaz (STG) JSC implements large-scale and significant national projects in the Volgograd Region. In 2018, FIFA 2018TM World Football Cup matches were successfully held at the Volgograd Arena stadium built by STG. At the moment, the company carries out the reconstruction of the Central Embankment of the city. During the implementation of projects, STG JSC is guided by the principles of promoting the socio-economic development of the cities within its footprint, which includes support and cooperation with local enterprises and organizations.

Stroytransgaz JSC became one of the first large customers of products, manufactured at the Krasny Oktyabr Corporation JSC, a Volgograd-based drilling equipment factory, which has recently resumed operations. The factory will supply 288 tons of steel structures for the construction of a pedestrian overpass across the zero longitudinal highway as part of the reconstruction of the city's Central Embankment.

Improvement of the lower deck of the embankment is a continuation of the works towards creation of a uniform recreation zone extending along the Volga bank from Mamaev Kurgan to the Tsaritsa river floodplain. The project implementation falls within a long-term development strategy of Volgograd region.

The main element of the renovated space from the river port to BK-13 monument will be the promenade along the embankment (the total length of all footpaths will be 18 km) and the central structure will be the amphitheatre with the bridge-type pedestrian crossing over the lateral road carriageway.

At the moment, the builders are carrying out preparatory work for the construction of a pedestrian overpass. At the first stage, specialists will have to drill the soil to a depth of up to 20 meters to install 12 reinforced concrete poles. The 80 meters long and 18 meters wide overpass will help pedestrians to cross the lateral road quickly and safely. The structure which creates the common viewing space with the top tier of the amphitheatre will also allow for viewers to see the actions on its stage comfortably.

Construction of the amphitheatre for 2,300 seats*

The construction of one of the main facilities of the embankment – an open amphitheatre for 2300 seats is in progress. Almost half of the in situ concrete works for the facility have been completed - 2680 cubic meters of concrete have been poured in the building structure. Outer walls of the facility substructure are fully concreted and the inner frame is formed for this part which is sand filled to ensure the building sustainability. Some 14,000 cubic meters of sand were used for these purposes. At the moment, reinforcement and concrete pouring of the walls, columns and floor slab of the aboveground part of the amphitheater is underway In parallel, utility lines are being laid that will ensure the operation of the future amphitheater - power supply and CCTV monitoring lines.

Also, within the project execution, work is underway to install four fountains, designed according to individual design projects. Two of the four objects have already been finished with granite. The territory is being landscaped, which also includes laying of asphalt concrete pavement, paving slabs, the installation of new granite steps on the central staircase leading to the river, and the repair of quay walls.

More than 130 people are involved in the implementation of the embankment reconstruction project - workers, engineers and technicians.

About the Project:

“STG” JSC started implementation of the project in the 3rd quarter 2018. The large-scale project of Volgograd embankment reconstruction is designed for several years - according to the project the works will be completed in 2021.

Parkland area is created near the new belt road. The main element of the renovated space from the river port to BK-13 monument will be the promenade along the embankment (the total length of all footpaths will be 18 km) and the central structure will be the amphitheatre with the bridge-type pedestrian crossing over the lateral road carriageway. The total parkland area will exceed 16 ha. More that 10 thousand trees and shrubs suitable for Volgograd climate will sprung up in the new parkland area. The created modern irrigation system will ensure proper plants care. A bicycle lane over 1 km long and a skateboarding ground with a special pavement will be built for active lifestyle enthusiasts.
