Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation: "Construction of the cultural and educational center in Kaliningrad is carried out without disruptions"

Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Osintsev visited the Western and Eastern sites of the buildings of the future cultural and educational complex on Oktyabrsky Island in Kaliningrad which are being built by STG JSC. Vladimir Osintsev made specific mention of the contracting company for the high-quality organization of the construction process and on-the-job safety of its employees.

"Construction of the cultural and educational center in Kaliningrad is carried out without disruptions. We see an active assistance on the part of the regional government in solving of all curent issues and problems. At the moment, more than a thousand people work at the construction facilities, all of them are residents of the region. Upon commencement of the interior finishing works, their number will be increased to 2.5 thousand builders per day, "- underlined the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.

At this moment, construction of the buildings at the Eastern site is coming to a close. The buildings of the branches of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography and the Central Music School at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, a school, as well as two boarding schools have been built in full. Facade work, glazing and interior work is currently underway. Residential buildings are being actively built, a site is being prepared for the creation of sports facilities.

Eastern site

In accordance with the updated construction schedule, work at educational facilities should be completed by the end of 2020. Thereafter licensing will begin. Residential buildings will be built and commissioned by August 2021.

Deputy Prime Minister of the regional government Ilya Barinov noted that meetings and visits to the sites are being held and made on a regular basis, the issue of temporary provision of classrooms and storage facilities is being resolved. The heads of the institutions told Vladimir Osintsev that the staff schedule had already been prepared and the workload distributed. The enrolment of future students of the choreographic academy and the music school will be completed by mid-August.

On the Western site, where the buildings of the branches of the Tretyakov Gallery, the Bolshoi Theater and the Higher School of Theater and Music Arts (a branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts) will be located, the preparation of the territory has already been completed and the concrete pouring of the foundation slab of the museum complex is currently underway.
