STG started the installation of boarding bridges in Bolshoye Savino Airport in Perm

Installation of a ThyssenKrupp boarding bridge on the parking apron

The Bolshoye Savino Airport in Perm started the installation of Thyssenkrupp boarding bridges on the parking apron. Previously, at the end of July, Stroytransgaz JSC delivered just in time the airport terminal apron with a total area of over 16,000 sq. m designed to accommodate 3 aircraft.

Currently, STG is installing 5 modern boarding bridges made by the German manufacturer ThyssenKrupp, the leader in this industry. The boarding bridges will speed up the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers substantially: the telescopically extendable multiple module corridor will allow the passengers a more comfortable access to the plane due to the movement in the same plane.

The construction and installation works of the last stage of renovation of the airport engineering structures are being carried out dynamically.

As designed, concrete is being placed on the taxiway and at aliquant places* be means of small tools and equipment, the taxiway and lighting navigational aids are being installed, and also the last apron strip is being concreted by the GOMACO concrete paver. The new-generation special equipment is being used to pave roads, airfield runways, and make concrete floors of non-residential buildings, where a continuous pouring of concrete mixtures is required. The Gomaco-2600 concrete paver delivers the industry’s largest single-pass paving thickness of 61 cm. The projects requiring this thickness are being implemented worldwide successfully. The large thickness allows avoiding reinforcement, and in Russia this technology has been mastered successfully at large construction projects.

* aliquant places are the places where it is technically impossible to place concrete by the GOMACO paver. Here, concrete is being placed manually using small tools and equipment (vibrating screed).

The workers are using the materials made at the concrete plant located directly on the premises of the airport, and 2 concrete plants in the city. Every day, the construction involves a higher number of builders and engineering technicians who have a great experience in erecting the airport infrastructure.

In October 2020, Stroytransgaz will complete the renovation of the Perm airport’s engineering structures that the Bolshoye Savino requires so that the transportation hub is capable of receiving the aircraft of all classes. In general, the project execution will solve the problem of lack of ground infrastructure and will allow the airport, which was commissioned in November 2017, to function fully, increasing the traffic capacity of the Perm air harbour to 2 million people per year.
