Concrete casting of the foundation slab of the Tretyakov Gallery in Kaliningrad is completed

Stroytransgaz JSC has completed concrete casting of the foundation slab for the future branch of the Tretyakov Gallery in Kaliningrad, which will become part of the Museum, Theater and Educational Complex (MTEC), being built under the “Culture”national project of the Russian Federation.

In total, more than 10,000 cubic meters of concrete mixture was cast in the foundation slab with an area of 8,518 sq. m. The concrete mixture, supplied for the foundation slab contains the highest quality materials. In particular, German equipment has been installed at the pit where sand is mined. The equipment provides for a 4-stage sand washing and its grain size composition control. Also in the concrete mixture manufacture, Kalmatron-D Pro additive was used. The additive is designed for waterproofing of the entire thickness of concrete and reinforced concrete structures at the concrete casting stage. The use of the Kalmatron-D PRO additive enables to obtain a material with high performance characteristics, primarily in terms of concrete watertightness and resistance to aggressive environments. The quality of the concrete mixture produced at Kaliningrad Concrete Products Plant-2 has been monitored by STG in-house laboratory experts.

In parallel, at the Western site a phased erection of vertical reinforced concrete structures of the future building and walls of technological channels has commenced.

In total, over 700 people – workers, engineers and technicians and 39 units of special equipment are engaged at the construction site. The work is carried out in 2 shifts.

Simultaneously, active work is also being underway at the Eastern site of the MTEC. In a short time, the academic buildings of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography will be opened here as well as those of the Central Music School at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky with concert halls and boarding schools, a dormitory for students and a comprehensive school for 550 schoolchildren, including a swimming-pool.

In-situ concreting, the laying of internal and external walls, partitions, roofing work is completed in the buildings of the educational complex. The work is currently in progress involving indoor laying of power supply networks, low-current networks, ventilation, as well as facade work, window and stained-glass window fitting.

5 blocks of flats are being built for performing artists and teachers.

Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation V.G. Osintsev emphasized: “The construction of the cultural and educational center in Kaliningrad is proceeding as scheduled. This is especially important to emphasize because we all faced restrictive measures and the risk of a shift in the planned timeline was very high. We hope that if we maintain the pace and quality of the work performed, soon a new hot spot will appear in the region not only for the residents of the Kaliningrad region, but also for other regions.”

On August 14, 2020, the facility was visited by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation M.Sh. Khusnullin, who noted as follows: “The Kaliningrad region has big development prospects. Let me mention a good pace and scope of work rolled out within the framework of national projects. All plans shall be implemented. "
