Overview Video of a Cultural and Educational Complex Construction in Kemerovo (April, 2021)

We would like to present a new video with the overview of the Cultural and Educational Complex construction progress in Kemerovo, one of the four cities where the Project is being implemented under an order of V.V. Putin, Head of the State. The Complexes are under construction to support the preservation and development of a single cultural and educational space of this country, as well as to enhance the role of Russia in the global humanitarian and cultural space.

By the end of 2023, the construction of the large Cultural and Educational Complex will be completed in Kemerovo, where the branches of the State Academic Mariinsky Theatre, State Russian Museum, Central Music School at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory
, as well as various educational establishments will be opened. The modern Cultural and Educational Complexes in 4 cities of Russia will become a unique domestic educational project and will change the quality of life throughout the Russian Federation through enculturation of people. The Cultural and Educational Complexes will have all the conditions required for affordable and high-quality vocational training of young talents, who will become the new cultural and creative capital of this country.

The Kemerovo Complex will become the main cultural centre not only in Siberia, but also in the neighbouring countries. The multifunctionality of the Complex will contribute to creating conditions for improving the general level of culture and quality of life of Kuzbass and Siberia residents as a whole, will provide wide access for all categories and groups of population to the best pieces of world and national culture.

The commissioning of the first start-up (Educational) complex is scheduled for early July 2021, when the region will widely celebrate the 300th Anniversary of the commercial exploitation of Kuzbass. In terms of commissioning time, the Educational Complex is the first part of all the large-scale projects under construction within the cluster of arts in the capital of Kuzbass, which is close to the finish line.

The Educational Complex includes the following facilities:

-       Academic building of the Choreographic Academy (150 students) with a boarding house for students (150 residents) and an educational theatre;

-       Academic building of the Special School of Music (150 students) with a concert hall;

-       Boarding house (75 residents) of the Special School of Music;

-       Comprehensive school (300 students).

The following work is underway for the first start-up (Educational) complex construction: installation of internal utility networks, finishing work, installation of the roof and finishing of facades of the academic buildings of the Choreographic Academy with a boarding house and educational theatre and the Special School of Music. Besides, the installation of window blocks and stained-glass structures is in progress in the Choreographic Academy with a boarding house. The following work has been completed: installation of half-timbered legs, construction of the outer walls of the academic buildings of the Choreographic Academy with a boarding house and the Special School of Music.

In the comprehensive school building, work is underway to build internal walls, partitions, install internal utility networks, stained glass structures, and finish the facade. Half-timbered legs have been completed.

The installation of internal utility networks, interior and facade finishing of the boarding house for students of the Special School of Music is in progress. The following work has been completed: floor screeding, wall plastering, and installation of prefabricated partitions.

An apartment building for teachers of the branches of the Moscow State Choreographic Academy and the Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts (Siberian branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts) – work is underway to install the 13th floor of the building monolithic frame, metal structures, build external and internal walls, install internal ventilation and heating systems and window blocks.

The following work is underway for the second start-up complex:

Dormitory for students of the Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts (Siberian branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts) – installation of low-current and electrical networks, facade finishing.

Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts with an academic building – installation of a monolithic frame, construction of external walls. Completed: 5,260 m³ out of 6,300 m³ (83.5%).

Museum Depository – construction of internal partitions, installation of internal storm sewer networks, window blocks, and roofing. Internal walls have been completed.

The third start-up Theatrical and Museum Complex – the construction site preparation is in progress.

The construction involved about 50 machines and vehicles and around 1,000 people such as construction workers, machine operators, engineers and technicians, etc.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2023.
