Visit to the Chusovaya River Bridge

On 29 April 2021, a delegation from the Ministry of Transport of the Perm Territory headed by Minister Andrey Alyakrinsky, visited the bridge over the Chusovaya River under construction by JSC Stroytransgaz. The key locations of the facility were visited – the construction sites of the Chusovaya River bridge on the left and right banks, construction site of the highway overpass at the intersection with Tsimlyanskaya Street. The Minister of Transport noted the positive progress of work: construction of supports for the overpass at PK40 had been stated, first channel support No. 2 of the new bridge had been completed, work is underway to build four additional channel supports. Besides, it was noted that the first tugs and barges were arriving at the facility and getting ready for work to build five channel supports. Besides, seasonal repairs of the roadway covering of the existing bridge across the Chusovaya River are in progress. The work is being performed at night to prevent traffic jams. The total volume of the new asphalt will be 13 thousand square meters. As we have already reported, the first one of 12 channel supports was concreted at the facility as the basis of the future structure. It was installed on a foundation made of 15 drill piles, 23.5 meters long each. 540 cubic meters of concrete was poured into the support.

The construction of channel supports is the most time consuming part of the entire bridge construction process, since construction depends on a number of factors. For example, the natural conditions of the construction site, geological structure in the channel part, and intensity of the ice drift.

The Minister of Transport of the Perm Territory pointed out that the main construction and installation work met the schedule approved at a meeting with the Governor of the Perm Territory held on 18 February 2021.
