Construction of the Tretyakov Gallery Branch

JSC Stroytransgaz has started building internal walls and partitions for the Tretyakov Gallery Branch, which is part of a large-scale cultural and educational complex on Oktyabrsky Island.

The room for sculpture restoration, equipment storage, electrical room, museum depository, and a room for safe box installation already have walls now. Over 24,000 cubic meters of concrete were laid in the main structure of the building – 75% of the total volume. Over 2,000 cubic meters of expanded clay gravel were poured into the technical channels for internal utility systems.

At the Eastern site, commissioning of electrical units for buildings of the educational complex is almost completed. To supply electricity to the educational buildings, it was necessary to lay about 6 km of cable lines. 2 km of cable lines were used for outdoor lighting of the territory. In total, more than 400 km of electrical and low-current networks were laid in the buildings of the educational complex.

A diesel generator set will ensure uninterrupted power supply. There is an electrical distribution panel in each building. The entire system is designed so that the backup power source will be immediately activated in the event of an emergency power outage, and thus the buildings of boarding facilities at the educational complex will be supplied with water, heat, and light, while emergency exits and routes will be illuminated at all the other facilities.

Besides, a heating system, hot and cold water supply systems are at the final stage of installation. In total, over 45 km of utility networks have been laid. Each building has an individual heat supply unit to provide the complex with hot water and heating. In case of an emergency, the buildings of the educational complex will be provided with heating and hot water for another 7 days.

The ventilation system is also at the final stage of installation. It circulates air and air conditions the premises. The total area of air ducts is over 22,000 square meters. The music school has a special steam humidification system to preserve the quality of instruments. Humidifiers will be installed in the instrument storage room and classrooms where instruments will be used.

The interior finishing of the educational buildings and boarding facilities is at the final stage. Environmentally friendly materials are used for finishing.

Special shields are installed on shock-absorbing blocks to be coated with special ballet linoleum, in the educational theater and ballet hall of the Сhoreographic Academy building. Interbeam spaces of the ceiling are filled with acoustic panels to create the right audio environment and the sound of live music. The interior of the halls is decorated in light colors, and the doors have improved sound insulation so that nothing distracts students from classes.

The territory improvement around the educational complex has also shown a good progress. Foundations for playgrounds have been leveled and asphalted, prepared for finish coating – crumb rubber. The construction of pedestrian paths is underway. The total area of sidewalks will be 13,185 sq. m. Landscaping of lawns is almost completed, the total area of which will be 15,152 sq. m. The next stage is to plant shrubs and trees, decorate flower beds and hedges. The green spaces will be diverse: birch, Serbian spruce, horse chestnut, maple, mountain pine, lilac, mountain ash, shadbush. The hedge will be made of shrubs of purple-leaved barberry, brilliant cotoneaster, and ash leaf spirea.

About 1,200 people and 30 specialty vehicles are engaged at the construction site now.
