The first flyover construction phase near Palniki railway station in Perm Territory has been completed

Stroytransgaz Group has completed the first flyover construction phase near Palniki railway station in Perm Territory. On 2 August 2021, traffic in both directions was moved to a new two-lane section of the flyover of 151.3 m long.

The flyover is built as part of a large-scale project for the construction of Chusovaya Bridge in Perm Territory and the reconstruction and construction of sections of Perm-Berezniki and Eastern Bypass in Perm. The length of the four-lane Chusovaya bridge will be 1.5 km, and 9.2 km together with accesses to it. The construction works were performed right above the tracks and the superstructure was installed during track possession (train service interruption) periods agreed with Russian Railways. A retaining wall made of reinforced concrete blocks was built at the facility. The 77.7 m long structure is designed to reinforce the embankment mass and protect it from collapsing.

To allow for switching the traffic to a new flyover section, workers have aligned the new structure with the existing road. At the next phase, workers will dismantle the previous flyover and replace it with a new one with characteristics matching the previous flyover. 5 interchange ramps, including the flyover, will be reconstructed simultaneously with the construction of the second flyover phase. The total length of ramps is 1,411 m. Simultaneously, active works are also being performed on the main facility, Chusovaya Bridge. The construction of piers is underway, and the next launching phase of steel superstructure structures of the Chusovaya Bridge will start in the near future. The construction of the overpass is underway at the intersection of the Eastern Bypass with Tsimlyanskaya Street.

Bridge over the Chusovaya river under construction

About the Project: The bridge over the Chusovaya river under construction will be a part of Moscow - Kazan - Perm - Khanty-Mansiysk - Surgut - Tomsk transport corridor. The commissioning of the facility will eliminate traffic jams at the Chusovaya river crossing and improve transport communication. The project provides for the reconstruction of interchange in the area of Palniki village; new interchanges will appear at the intersection of Solikamsk highway with Korsunskaya Street, as well as between the Eastern Bypass and Tsimlyanskaya Street. The new bridge will be the twin to the existing one. It will be located at a distance of 18 meters from the existing bridge. The length of the four-lane bridge under construction will be 1.5 km, and 9.2 km together with accesses to it.
