Stroytransgaz Siberia JSC Co-Hosts Kuzbass-fest: Theatre is Here!

The results of the Interregional festival and contest Kuzbass-fest: Theatre is Here! with international participants co-hosted by Stroytransgaz Siberia JSC have been summed up. At the closing ceremony of the project, General Director of STG Siberia JSC Sergei Sergeevich Mariinsky presented appreciation letters to the winners of Poetics of the City. Performative Signs Award.

Natalya Vladimirovna Volynskaya, President of the National Cultural Heritage Foundation, also took part in the event. She told reporters about the construction progress of the Siberian Cultural Complex.

Minister of Culture and National Policy of Kuzbass Marina Aleksandrovna Evsa highlighted the importance of the cluster construction project for Kuzbass, thanked Stroytransgaz Siberia JSC for its active participation in the preparation of the festival.

As part of the contest, the Siberian branch of the Russian State Institute of Performance Arts and the Educational Complex joined the cultural life of Kuzbass at the construction stage. They were among the venues that hosted series of performances based on the works of the winners of the OPERENIE (PLUMAGE) regional youth literary festival and contest. A series of street presentations started with the Departure Point performance by Carpe Diem choir near the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts. Then the relay baton was passed to the alley of the Educational Complex, where it was taken by Perpetual Movement dance group with the Out of Place performance.

In total, more than 1,000 young people at 7 venues supported the festival by participating in a flash mob to draw public attention to the cultural base improvement in Kuzbass and the construction of cultural institutions. The Siberian Cultural Complex is being built by Stroytransgaz Group on behalf of the National Cultural Heritage Foundation for Social and Cultural Projects.

The cluster includes: the Opera and Ballet Theatre, branch of the State Academic Mariinsky Theatre; Museum and Exhibition Centre, Branch of Russian Museum; Kuzbass Art Centre, including a Cinema and Concert Complex; Siberian Campus of the Russian State Scenic Art Institute; School of Creative Industries; Branch of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography; The Siberian Branch of the Central School of Music at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

The task to create four new cultural centres (Vladivostok, Kemerovo, South Russia, Kaliningrad) was set by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in his Address to the Federal Assembly in 2018 and specified in the Executive Order On National Goals and Strategic Objectives of Development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024.

The Interregional festival and contest Kuzbass-fest: Theatre is here! is a festival of professional performing art dating back to 1971 (when it was called Theatrical Kuzbass). Actors from theatres of Kuzbass, Yoshkar-Ola and Austria, as well as directors, playwrights and theatre critics from St. Petersburg, Samara and Novosibirsk took part in the festival. Sketches created as part of the director’s laboratory of participatory practices, street performances and the best performances of professional Kuzbass theatres were shown on the stages of Kuzbass theatres. The event was hosted by the Kemerovo Regional Branch of the Union of Theatre Professionals of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture and National Policy of Kuzbass.
