The Siberian High School of Music and Theatre in Kemerovo is 60% complete. A 5-floor building for 300 students is under construction. The total area of the site within the boundaries of the land allotment is 30,000 m². The development area is 5,025 m² and the total building area is 12,850 m². It is expected that 166 employees will work here, including 65 tutors. The building includes a medical station and a canteen.

An amphitheatre with an area of 350 m² for 233 spectators has already been grouted opposite the main entrance. It will be finished with a polymer decking resistant to temperature and humidity difference.

The external walls have been erected, the workers have completed the installation of the membrane roof, the floors are being grouted, preparations for the installation of stained-glass windows and windows are in progress. They installed waterproofing film on the roof, covered the entire roof with expanded clay, installed a reinforcing net and made a strap. The workers installed 4,329 m² of roofing resistant to sudden temperature difference and Siberian frosts.

You can now see some details of the internal architectural design of the facility; each floor has its own wall and ceiling pattern. The interior space has curvilinear shapes with different bending radii and complex transitions. A "floating floor" was installed on all floors of the building; the technology provides for a soundproofing plate between the building's ceiling and the finished floor, and the additional soundproofing will facilitate the educational process so that classes in neighbouring classrooms are comfortable for students and tutors.

Skylights are provided on the roof as additional natural lighting. The structure is made from cast-in-situ oval-shaped walls rising three meters above the roof. The size of the structures is 8m by 5.8m. They have slopes on the south and east sides to provide as much light as possible. Supporting metal beams have been mounted for stained-glass windows. Light passing through the inclined stained-glass structures from the 4th floor of the building will get into the common lobby on the first floor and be evenly distributed throughout the recreation area enhancing the lines of spiral staircases.

In accordance with the order of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, cultural, educational and museum complexes will have been built in Vladivostok, Kaliningrad and Kemerovo by 2024.

“I would really like... these centres not to be just beautifully constructed. I want them to be centres for spiritual growth and creative community providing opportunities to our people, including children so that our citizens living in this region have the opportunity to visit exhibitions of major museums: the Hermitage, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum and others, without going to metropolitan centres, Moscow and St. Petersburg. More than 80% works of art are sometimes held in the storerooms. Why should they be there? It is better to create new platforms where people can see it and enjoy this art," said the President.

The School of Creative Industries is a unique further education project of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts (RGISI) designed for the creative young people of 12-17 years old living in the regions. The Schools have been operating in Kemerovo and Kaliningrad since 2020, and more than 200 students already completed their first year studies this summer. Studying at the School allows teenagers to orient themselves in creative trades, to implement their author's projects and make an informed choice of their future trade, including those provided in the branches of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts.
