Stroytransgaz Group Arranges Viral Infection Preventive Activities

Health of employees is the priority of Stroytransgaz Group. To improve the immunity of the team, the employees are vaccinated to prevent various viral infections, the management arranges heath counselling on the required protections and behaviour during epidemics.

In October, SOGAZ insurance company arranged two influenza and pneumococcal vaccination campaigns for Stroytransgaz employees in the medical office at its headquarters. Today, an effective method of simultaneous vaccination against these two viruses is practiced, so everyone could get both vaccinations on the same day.

Early in the day, the body temperature of all employees is measured; employees with fever are not allowed to work. There are sanitizers and disposable masks in each office and common area.

All Stroytransgaz Vostok workers, excluding those on the rotational leave, had a COVID prevention conference. Aleksandr Tovstenko, Non-Executive Director of STG Vostok, and Sergey Sereda, Head of the Construction and Installation Department, briefed the workers on the relevant regulations applicable in Primorye Territory, repeatedly focused on risks of COVID-19 and urged their colleagues to get full COVID-19 vaccinations as soon as possible.

Immediately before the conference, managers of STG Vostok communicated the latest orders of the Governor of Primorye Territory Oleg Kozhemyako and the Chief Public Health Officer of Primorye Territory Tatyana Detkovskaya to employees. These orders provide for the use of personal QR codes in the Region from 15 November to confirm a full COVID-19 vaccination. Such identifiers will allow citizens to freely attend public events, catering, cultural, physical education and sports facilities, while those who have not been protected from COVID-19 will not be able to attend them.

The attendees were also reminded of the instructions issued by Igor Volkunovich, General Director of STG Vostok LLC, to unconditionally implement orders of the regional administration at the Company's construction sites in Vladivostok.

The conference was focused on the fact that COVID-19 is still here, and Primorye Territory like other regions of Russia is on the verge of another fourth wave of the dangerous infection. For example, according to the regional Rospotrebnadzor department, more than 200 new cases are identified in Primorye daily. In total, more than 74,000 residents of the region have contracted COVID-19 since the epidemic started. However, vaccination rate in the region remains low and it does not allow to develop herd immunity.

STG Vostok management urged their colleagues to bindingly accept this information, observe basic personal hygiene rules, remember to put on protective masks in public places, timely respond to the first disease signs and consult a doctor, if necessary. But it is yet better to get vaccinated and thereby take care of your health and safety of your loved ones, friends and colleagues. However, the decision on whether to get vaccinated or not is still voluntary.

“Health and safety of our employees and the prevention of COVID-19 outbreaks at Stroytransgaz Vostok facilities are our top priorities. In addition, we as a contractor of top public importance projects have a professional duty to maintain continuous production to timely put the facilities into operation," said Aleksandr Tovstenko, Non-Executive Director of STG Vostok.

To recap, most Stroytransgaz Group companies successfully completed COVID-19 vaccination campaigns. In Vladivostok, healthcare workers visited the headquarters of STG Vostok on Russky Island twice and several dozen employees have got the life-saving vaccine just at their workplace.

Both managers and employees of STG Siberia JSC are safety advocates. The employees have got vaccines at the company's headquarters and construction sites in Kemerovo. HSE department employees have developed an action plan to prevent COVID-19 outbreaks approved by General Director Sergey Sergeevich Mariinsky. This plan is binding on both the company's employees and subcontractor employees.

The company has arranged temperature measurements and provided for hand sanitizing, installed air recirculating units in the premises and provided the employees with a daily (endless) supply of medical face masks.

The anti-COVID-19 action plan also provides for limited contacts of the individual crews and functional teams not performing shared jobs and production processes.

Managers of business units daily monitor how the employees observe anti-epidemic practices. Everyone is advised to avoid shaking hands, touching their eyes, nose and mouth, practice frequent hand sanitizing, office employees must sanitize computer keyboards, hand sets and desk surfaces.

The employees of Stroytransgaz Zapad LLC also develop herd COVID-19 immunity. The subsidiary has arranged three field voluntary COVID-19 vaccination campaigns. To date, 247 employees of the company have been vaccinated. The employees got a Sputnik V or SputnikLight vaccine.

"We have sought to create a comfortable environment for our colleagues to get a COVID-19 vaccine. An important condition is that the vaccination is voluntary. To avoid negative effects, each employee is examined by a general practitioner who decides on the advisability of vaccination. In addition, vaccination at the workplace significantly reduces health risks and saves working time", said Andrey Ivanovich Fedorov, General Director, STG Zapad LLC.

The company has also arranged temperature measurements at construction sites, provided hand sanitizers in the premises and medical face masks to employees.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, it is only possible to stop the outbreak and finally cope with the epidemic through vaccination as it helps to develop herd immunity and interrupt human-to-human transmission of the virus.
