Stroytransgaz JSC Sponsors the Special Olympics

Charity is a special priority of Stroytransgaz JSC. It is one of the most important humanitarian value and a real opportunity to provide targeted aid to charitable funds, sponsor special movements and events. Corporate philanthropy includes corporate volunteering to make the world a kinder place. All charitable and partnership projects are comprehensive and implemented based on the basic principles of consistency, cooperation and transparency.

By the decision of the General Director of Stroytransgaz JSC Vladimir Aleksandrovich Lavlentsev, the company provided financial charitable support to hold city competitions of the Special Olympics as part of the corporate social responsibility programme. Sports events for persons with intellectual disabilities will be held in Moscow. The city competitions will be hosted by the Moscow Department of Sports and Moscow Special Olympics Regional Public Organization.

Special Olympics is a global movement dedicated to health and fitness activities and competitions for people with intellectual disabilities.

Competitions in such sports as table tennis and unified table tennis, floorball, basketball and unified basketball will be held in late November.

More than 50 athletes and unified partners will take part in competitions for men, women and unified pairs, where one team member is an athlete with intellectual disabilities and his or her partner is an individual without intellectual disabilities. Floorball is a type of indoor hockey. More than 100 athletes will compete in two divisions. Floorball games always draw attention due to their intensity and lightning-fast changing game situation. Competitions will be held at two venues. About 80 basketball players and unified partners will cross swords in this sport.

In 2021, Moscow Special Olympics (a regional public organization for people with intellectual disabilities) has already held 14 city Special Olympics competitions, and five more events are planned before the year end.

The basic principle of Special Olympics is participation, and every athlete and unified partner will receive a souvenir and a boost of positive energy.
