Progress of Reconstruction in Oktyabrsky Avenue in Lubertsy

Stroytransgaz Group reconstructs Phase 1 of Oktyabrsky Avenue in Lyubertsy from the junction with Vlasov Street to the road approach up to the overpass through the railway track along the main course of the avenue with a turn to Volkovskaya Street. The project envisages to increase the number of traffic lanes from 4 to 8. The reconstructed section will be 1.5 km along the main course of the avenue and 2.94 km along side road approaches and exit roads.

STG will also build a new four-lane bridge over two busy road crossings in Krasnaya and Smirnovskaya Streets with the total length of 473 m. To ensure road traffic safety, two underground pedestrian walkways will also be built, including ramps for baby carriages and wheelchairs. The project provides for installation of three traffic lights and construction of seven bus stops. After the reconstruction, the average traffic speed will be about 80 km/h and vehicle travel time will be no more than 15–20 minutes. The throughput capacity of the road will increase by 35%.

Utility reconstruction works are underway at this facility. The auger drilling method* is used to reconstruct the water supply system under Oktyabrsky Avenue at a depth of 4 meters. The installation of cable ducts are underway and 28,901.3 running meters out of 57,322 running meters have been completed. 30 out of 37 communication utility vaults have been built, 13 solid-cast telecommunication boxes are also provided, including two that have already been built. A 30m3 utility vault for heating networks has been concrete embedded.

* A type of rotary drilling. A bit is rapidly sunk into the rock during the drilling, the broken rock is continuously transported up the screw surface of the auger and removed through the wellhead to the ground level.

0.4-10 kV cable lines have been reconstructed. They are now reconnected. 1,255 running meters out of 1,713 running meters of the storm water drainage have been built using the AVN. The storm water drainage system is laid at a depth from 5 to 8 meters, consists of storm water wells connected by Korsis type corrugated pipes and is designed to drain water from the road pavement.

In addition, an asphalt-concrete pavement of the left side road approach is built (2,380 m2 out of 46,266 m2 are completed) with a sidewalk made of vibro-pressed tiles (762 m2 out of 13,811 m2) to bypass traffic along Oktyabrsky Avenue.

About 55 workers and 15 vehicles are engaged at the construction site.

The large-scale reconstruction project of Oktyabrsky Avenue includes five phases and is implemented as part of road network development and transport accessibility improvement in Lyubertsy Municipal District as ordered by Andrey Vorobiev, the Governor of the Moscow Region. The project owner is the Road Construction Office of the Moscow Region. The total reconstructed length of the avenue will be about 6.5 km along the main course and 5.9 km along exit roads. After the reconstruction, the road throughput is expected to be 115,00 vehicles per day. Based on preliminary estimates, all five phases are planned to be completed by 2025.
