Construction of a cultural and educational centre is underway in Kemerovo. The construction is carried out by Stroytransgaz Group commissioned by the National Cultural Heritage Foundation.

The educational centre which includes five buildings (a choreographic academy and a boarding school for 150 students, music school for 150 students with a concert hall, a boarding school for 75 students, a comprehensive school with a swimming pool for 300 students) and has a footprint of 7 hectares, is nearing completion. Commissioning and facade works are being completed here. The commissioning permit has been applied for.

Facade and finish works, installation of external and internal utilities are being carried out in a 16-storey apartment building for teachers.

At the Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts (Siberian branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts and the School of Creative Industries, its functional unit) for 300 students, steel structures are being installed, stained glass structures assembled, facades finished and on-site utilities installed. This is going to be one of the most complex and unusual buildings in the capital of Kuzbass. It includes a medical station, a library and a canteen. The landscaping project provides for outdoor playgrounds. A 233-seat amphitheatre with an area of 350 m² has already been grouted opposite the main entrance. It will be finished with a polymer decking resistant to temperature and humidity variations.

In the dormitory of the Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts for 240 students (7 floors), the indoor spaces are being finished, porcelain tiles installed, walls prepared to be painted, internal utilities installed and the entrance lobbies finished.

At the depository for arts museums of Kemerovo Region with a restoration centre, where state-of-the-art museum technologies will be used to exhibit, conserve, store and restore world-class museum valuables, the internal utilities and suspended facades are being installed.

The foundation slab has been completely concreted at the site of the Museum and Theatre Complex. The total volume of the cast-in-place reinforced concrete slab is more than 19,300 m3. The construction of basement walls for all subunits has started. 600 m3 of concrete has been received.

As you might remember, the Museum and Theatre Complex is a unique project bringing together branches of the State Academic Mariinsky Theatre and the Russian Museum, the Kuzbass Art Center and a cinema and concert facility and Atrium, a public space. The 63.3 m high building will have 12 or 13 floors.

The Kemerovo cultural and educational centre is one of four similar projects simultaneously built by Stroytransgaz across Russia in accordance with the Russia’s President’s mandate.

The creation of modern cultural & educational centres is a unique Russian educational project that will change the quality of life throughout the Russian Federation through introduction to art. Schools as part of these centres have all conditions required for affordable and high-quality vocational training of young talents, who will become the new cultural and creative capital of this country.

The project is important for developing international cultural collaboration and will be of particular economic and social importance not only for the region, but for the whole country.
