Yacht Marina in Gelendzhik is 76% Ready

The Stroytransgaz Group is working on the construction of offshore and onshore infrastructure facilities in Gelendzhik. The facility is 76% complete.

STG is a major contributor to the development of yachting, tourist environment and comfortable modern infrastructure in Russia. In 2022, the construction of onshore and offshore infrastructure facilities in Gelendzhik will be completed. The facilities are built as part of the Development of Russia’s Transportation System governmental programme.

- Moles

The Southern Mole has been completed in full. Structural reinforcement at the Northern Mole is being completed, their concreting and installation of mooring equipment will be completed by the end of the year. The Northern Mole is 71% complete.

Despite their apparent simplicity of construction, breakwaters are extremely rugged structures with two solid walls on both sides made of steel piles driven into the seabed.

- Berths

Berth No. 2 and Marina Berth No. 3.2 are more than 90% complete, concreting is being completed there. Marina Berth No. 3.3 is 80% complete. Two more berths are 100% complete.

- Coast Protection and Dredging

The total length of coast protection is 517.3 m. Laying of landscape fabric and sand filling are being completed, installation of protective concrete blocks has started.

Dredging operations are now being carried out to increase the sea depth inside and near the marina, and, consequently, to ensure easy passage of vessels in the future. Once dredging operations are complete, the maximum depth will be minus 7.5 meters. To date, 249 thousand cu. m has been dredged within the yacht marina area. The progress is 70%.

- Artificial Land Plot and Utility Networks

Landscaping of a bulk artificial land plot with an area of 0.94 hectares has been completed.   A slipway – a lowering and lifting structure for ships – has been landscaped. Laying of utility networks is well under way. A transformer substation is under construction.

The project for construction of onshore and offshore infrastructure facilities will have significant social and economic effects in the development of the city because the new comfortable environment will allow raising the city’s tourism appeal and will, in turn, have a positive effect on the city economy and quality of its residents’ life and promote the development of maritime transportation routes of the coastal region.
