Future Users of the Cultural and Educational Complex Buildings Visited the Construction Site on Oktyabrsky Island

Mikhail Ivanovich Balabanov, President of the National Cultural Heritage Foundation, and Rinat Makhmutovich Shigapov, First Deputy General Director of the State Tretyakov Gallery, visited the construction site of the Cultural and Educational Complex on Oktyabrsky Island in Kaliningrad. The main purpose of the visit was to check the construction progress of the Museum Complex and approval of the presented finishing materials and mockups of future interiors.

During the visit, they inspected almost all premises of the future museum with the total area of 17,600 square meters, including nearly 4,400 square meters designed for 14 exhibition halls. To date, the body of the building is completed, the works in the administrative tower, the entrance area and the ground floor of the Museum are underway, all internal rough-in has been completed, ventilation and air conditioning systems have been installed, utilities are being made, office premises are tiled.

The builders presented a finishing option for some premises based on previously agreed colour schemes and showed suspension systems used to fix ceiling cassettes. Special attention was paid to samples of outdoor tiles for the area adjacent to the Museum and its compliance with the colour layout developed by the architects. "The building itself is very bright," said Rinat Shigapov, First Deputy General Director of the State Tretyakov Gallery. "The design of external areas outside the Museum shall follow it up, including the colour scheme. In general, the construction of the Museum is in line with the schedule. The current goal of commissioning the facility by the end of the year can be achieved."
