At STG-Vostok construction site near Cable Car (Orlonoye Gnezdo Hill), the reinforced concrete structures of the future Museum and Theatre Complex are being actively erected. Once the complex is opened, Vladivostok residents and guests will enjoy a chance to experience Russia's national culture without leaving for Moscow or St. Petersburg – to attend concerts by leading performers, exhibitions in the Hermitage Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, and other major museum complexes of the country.

From a high point in the city, you can already see the stepped roof being erected from the base of the building to its top. By the way, it will be the longest occupied roof in Vladivostok with a total area of more than 1,000 square metres. This is where the dedicated public space will be located.

Rising sharply above Zolotoy Rog Bay, the outline of the city's future symbol - three buildings stacked in the shape of a triangle - became visible. As designed, it is a symbol of the unity of Russia's three most important cultural institutions, which shall not be separated not only physically, but also figuratively.

"The basic idea of landscaping design is that the newly constructed facility should become an integral element of the landscape, complementing and enhancing it. As part of the landscape, the building of the Cultural Centre will undoubtedly become a new symbol of Vladivostok," said Evgeniy Koshelyov, General Director of STG-Vostok.

The multifunctional complex consists of three sections: museum, theater and educational. Its total area is over 70 thousand square metres. The monolithic frame of the complex is now 60% complete. 35,800 cubic metres of concrete – including for piles and foundation slab – and 4,000 tonnes of reinforcing steel were already used for construction. The highest point of the construction site has reached 30 metres above ground level.

"The museum will be one of the highest buildings. The fifth floor has now been completed and there will be eight floors in total. We should consider that one storey is a minimum of 7 metres high. In the museum section, STG-Vostok has concreted the walls and columns and has started construction of the stairwells," said Nikolai Volhin, STG-Vostok Project Manager.

In the Theatre section, the foundation for the future stage of Bolshoi Theatre branch is being poured with concrete. It will provide the largest theatre hall in the Far East, with a capacity of 1,300 seats.

The Institute section has four floors and is 24 metres above ground level. It will accommodate training theatre with a stage, sports hall, classrooms and other premises of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts Branch and the School of Creative Industries.

"Strict supervision is kept at all stages of construction by STG and the National Cultural Heritage Foundation. It is important to note that installation of reinforced concrete structures complies with international quality standards. No rework or additional plastering is required after formwork removal, the surface of the walls and columns is smooth and even gloss, and all corners are straight", explains Alexander Fokin, Head of the Planning and Scheduling Department .

It should be noted that cultural and educational are under construction in Vladivostok, Kemerovo, Sevastopol, and Kaliningrad as per the order of Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation. They include the branches of the Bolshoi and the Mariinsky Theatres, the Russian Museum and the Tretyakov Gallery, concert halls, museum and exhibition spaces, as well as branches of leading higher eduction institutions for arts.
