Laying of Asphalt Coating Started at Volodarskoye Highway Exit under Construction

The process of asphalt laying

During the past weekend, the builders in Leninsky District commenced laying of asphalt coating on the two-lane exit from Volodarskoye Highway towards Moscow and A-105 Highway. As sources in the Moscow Suburban Area Ministry of Transport say, the project is being executed under instruction of the regional governor Andrey Vorobyev and upon request from local residents.

‘The builders are currently commencing asphalt coating laying on the carriageway of the exit from Volodarksoye Highway to A-105 Highway. 4,200 tonnes of asphalt are expected to be laid; the builders then will commence road marking activities, construction of the barrier railing and installation of traffic signs.  The traffic along the road is expected to be launched in the coming May’ said the Moscow Suburban Area Transport Minister Alexey Gerzhik.

Currently, due to the lack of direct exit to A-105 towards Moscow, during morning and evening rush hours several traffic flows intersect and generate traffic jams. The new exit will improve the traffic situation and reduce the time of travel to Moscow from 1 hour to 20 minutes.

The construction of Volodarskoye Highway exit is just one of the stages of the future project of improvement of Kashirskoye Highway section, which is expected to commence upon completion of design in the 3rd quarter of 2023. As part of the project, the road will be expanded to 6–8 lanes, and three interchanges without traffic lights will be constructed on different levels at intersections with A-105, Volodarskoye and Belokamennoye Highways. Three new pedestrian crossings will be constructed, and various elements of traffic management will be implemented. The total length of the road section is approximately 16.5 km.

Implementation of the project will help to increase the throughput of Kashirskoye Highway by 25–30% and eliminate traffic jams, and the time of travel along the road will not exceed 20 minutes. Also, the project will substantially improve the traffic situation in adjacent settlements, and residential neighbourhoods of the Lenin District currently under construction.

Preparatory work for construction of right-turn Exit 12 from Volodarskoye Highway to A-105 Highway (approach road from Moscow to Domodedovo Airport) started back in November of 2022. By now, the existing fence of the land plot of the Lenin Sovkhoz company has been relocated in the course of withdrawal of a part of the land plot for the purposes of the Exit construction. The geodetic control network has been developed. The construction area has now been cleared of shrubbery and woody vegetation. In addition, revamping (elongation) of an existing culvert with a diameter of 1,500 mm has been carried out.
The project will be implemented under the state program of the Moscow Region “Development and Operation of the Traffic Complex for 2017–2024” with funding from the regional road fund.
