Progress of Reconstruction at Oktyabrsky Avenue in Lubertsy

Support No. 3 of the Overpass under Construction

Stroytransgaz Group is excavating a pit for the tunnel part central passage of an underground pedestrian crossing (63 m) at the intersection with Krasnaya Street at Phase 1 of the Oktyabrsky Prospekt reconstruction in Lyubertsy. This large-scale project is being implemented based on instructions from Andrey Vorobyov, Governor of the Moscow Region.

“The central passage will be located right under Oktyabrsky Prospekt. Now, the builders started driving special fences of the pit – sheet pile sinking is in process, then excavation and installation of special reinforced concrete monolithic structures will begin. The construction of stairways continues. There will be four of them – they will provide pedestrian access to the even and odd sides of Oktyabrsky Prospekt and to Krasnaya Street. There will be an inclined-type lifting platform for people with limited mobility,” said Aleksey Gerzhik, Minister of Transport of the Moscow Region. 

Installation of Special-Purpose Auxiliary Structures and Facilities

At the same time, a new storm sewerage is nearing completion, utilities are under reconstruction, asphalt pavement and paving slabs are being laid on pedestrian areas at the reconstruction site of Oktyabrsky Prospekt. Preparations are underway for the installation of the 14th and 15th supports of the overpass under construction between Krasnaya and Smirnovskaya Streets. Work is also underway for the construction of supports Nos. 1 and 2. In total, 13 of the 15 supports of the artificial structure now have varying degrees of completeness. AS* construction is scheduled to be completed in September.

It is worth reminding that a new backup road was opened in Lyubertsy at the end of April as part of Phase 1 of the Oktyabrsky Prospekt reconstruction. Besides, road workers have started dismantling the underground pedestrian crossing at the intersection with Smirnovskaya Street.

New Four-Lane Overpass 

The reconstruction section under Phase 1 is located from the intersection of Vlasova Street and Oktyabrsky Prospect to the approach to the overpass through the railway tracks with a turn onto Volkovskaya Street. As a result of this project, the number of lanes on the trunk road will increase from 4 to 8. Two underground pedestrian crossings, three traffic lights, and seven bus stops will also be arranged.

The project for Oktyabrsky avenue reconstruction includes five phases and is implemented as part of measures for road network development and transport accessibility improvement in Lyubertsy. The facility upgrade will increase the capacity of the road by 35%, and the drive time on the highway will be reduced by 20–30 minutes.
