In July 2016, PJSC Stroytransgaz (STG Group) won a tender and signed a contract for the renovation of a 35/10 kV Molodezhnaya substation located in Vyborgsky District, the Leningrad Region. PJSC Lenenergo, a power distribution grid company affiliated to PJSC Rosseti, is the project customer.

PJSC Stroytransgaz is to replace two transformers, which will lead to a 2.5-fold increase in the capacity of the substation, i.e. from 12.6 MVA to 32 MVA. STG will, among others, fit the substation with an up-to-date modular 10 kV switchgear. The substation is to be upgraded without the shutdown of consumers energy supply.

The upgrade of the Molodezhnaya substation will allow for the connection of new consumers with a total capacity of 5.2 MW, including a farm in the Polyanskoye rural settlement, summer communities and allotment gardens “Zolotye Peski”, “Privetninskoye”, and “Ozernoye”, as well as private residential dwellings. Moreover, the substation renovation will provide for additional reliability of power supply to the consumers of the Polyanskoye settlement in the Vyborgsky District of the Leningrad Region, and in particular to those of the Privetninskoye settlement.

The project is to be implemented within the framework of a program for long-term development of the power industry of the Leningrad Region in the period between 2015 and 2019 approved by the Order of the Governor of the Leningrad Region. Timely renovation of power supply centres and installation of new modern equipment are essential prerequisites for the reliable power supply to the consumers.

The completion of the substation renovation is scheduled before the end of 2016.
