All Piers of the Bridge across the Chusovaya River are Constructed

JSC Stroytransgaz has completed the construction of all 14 piers of the bridge across the Chusovaya River. During their construction, more than 28 thousand m3 of concrete and 2,000 tons of reinforcement were laid, more than 8,000 tons of metal of special auxiliary structures and devices were used. The pier bodies are made of high-strength concrete, which ensures reliable operation of the structure, as well as resistance to the aggressive effects of external environmental factors. The process of building the piers was carried out both from temporary bridges and from the river using barges and tugboats.

At present, more than 3,600 out of 7,140 tons of steel structure elements of the bridge span have been assembled from the right bank of the river, and the next stage of its launching towards the left bank has begun. In the coming days, the span will be launched by 180 meters.

Preparations are underway on the left bank between piers 1 to 5 to lower the superstructure onto the supporting parts and to concrete the carriageway slab. On the approaches to the bridge from the left bank, the embankment of the earth bed along the main course of the road is underway.

The total length of the bridge is 1506.02 m, including the span from the left bank – 337.2 m, from the right bank – 1,156.96 m.

The construction of the road part along the main course of the Vostochny Bypass and Perm–Berezniki highways is also underway: an embankment and layers of pavement are being erected, and asphalt concrete coating has begun.

The project includes 3 new interchanges and 3 new pedestrian overpasses.

The superstructure has been lowered onto the supporting parts and concreting formwork is being installed to cast the roadway slab on the overpass at the intersection of Vostochny Bypass with Tsimlyanskaya Street.

Piers are almost installed on the overpass as part of the transport interchange at the intersection with Korsunskaya Street. Preparatory work is underway for the installation of span beams.

Activities are progressing on the new right side overpass in the area of the Palniki railway station: the last three out of seven piers are almost constructed, and preparations are underway on the mounted beams of superstructures on spans between piers 3 to 6 to install an in-situ carriageway slab.

Besides, work is continuing to reconstruct rail overpasses within the station-to-station block of Levshino-Golovanovo where the overpass spans the Perm-Berezniki highway. A set of works has been completed to dismantle the structures of the existing overpass, work is underway to install piers for a new overpass along the odd railway direction.

Two pedestrian overpasses are being built: the builders have completely installed piers, are pre-assembling the superstructure and erecting piers over the Vostochny Bypass road.

About 800 personnel and 140 units of machinery are engaged in operations on a daily basis.
