Progress on Kashirskoye Highway Section Reconstruction

Soil excavation development

Stroytransgaz is making preparations before the start of the main reconstruction phase of a section of the Kashirskoye Highway, a regional project under the personal control of Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobiev. Kashirskoe Highway is now unable to cope with the increased traffic, especially at the intersection with Volodarskoe Highway.

Design of right-turn Exit 12 from Volodarskoye Highway to A-105 highway “Approach Road from Moscow to Domodedovo Airport” was completed and it construction started last year. It was decided to build this exit ramp in the first instance because the facility would connect settlements with a total population of more than 30,000. The start of the traffic here is planned for May 2023.

The length of Exit 12 and the transition lane is about 1,000 metres. This exit will have 2 lanes (each 4 m wide). The existing fence of the land plot of CJSC “Sovkhoz named after Lenin” is being relocated under withdrawal of a part of the land plot for the purposes of the exit construction. The geodetic spreading base (GPB) work has been completed.

The construction area has now been cleared of shrubbery and woody vegetation. In addition, reconstruction (lengthening) of an existing culvert with a diameter of 1500 mm has been carried out. The project also involves removal of utilities from the construction site and construction of the roadbed.

During reconstruction of Kashirskoye Highway section, in addition to construction of exits, Stroytransgaz Group will complete design and construction of 4 overpasses, 3 elevated walkways and 3 pedestrian underpasses, and equip various traffic management elements. The total length of the facility will be about 16.5 km, including expansion of 3.4 km to 6-8 lanes and 0.4 km of Volodarskoye Highway.

The project will be implemented under the state program of the Moscow Region “Development and Operation of the Traffic Complex for 2017–2024” with funding from the regional road fund. The section runs from the interchange from A-105 to the turn onto Belokamennoye highway towards Vidnoye. According to the Ministry of Transport of the Moscow Region, reconstruction of the main section of Kashirskoe Highway and construction of an interchange at the intersection with Volodarskoe Highway will improve road capacity by decreasing traffic load in peak hours.
