In 2020, JSC Stroytransgaz (STG) entered into a government contract for the preservation of hydraulic engineering structures in progress in the international marine terminal at Pionersky seaport in the Kaliningrad Region. The customer is Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Rosmorport”.
The deep-water port for cruisers and passenger-and-freight ships at Pionersky seaport will become one of the largest infrastructure facilities in the Northwestern Federal District. The international marine terminal will be able to accept more than 400 vessels, and the annual passenger traffic will exceed 300 thousand. The water area of the future terminal will be 30.53 ha.
In order to avoid damaging the structures during storms, JSC Stroytransgaz will ensure safety of the existing hydraulic engineering structures of the marine terminal by means of construction and erection works, such as dipping a tubular sheet pile with filling, installation of anchor supports, laying of anchor rods and anchor crossbeam system, installation of tetrapods, gabions, sand and rock banking. STG will also finish part of the structures to bring them to a safe condition, and will perform new construction of a temporary crossover between the quay pier and berth No. 1.
The measures for the preservation of the hydraulic engineering structures in progress at Pionersky terminal include the following:
Preservation of the port will prevent further destruction of the structures, and will soon allow to continue the construction and complete the project of the international marine terminal at Pionersky seaport satisfying high standards. Construction of an international marine terminal is of great importance for the economic development of the westernmost Russian region. It should increase tourist attractiveness of the region and the competitiveness of its port infrastructure.
