Reconstruction of Lobnya – Sheremetyevo Airport highway continues

The Stroytransgaz Group of Companies is performing work to reconstruct the section of Lobnya – Sheremetyevo Airport highway. To date, the facility construction is 80 % complete. Thanks to the reconstruction, the section traffic will be more convenient, and the capacity will reach 67 thousand cars per day.

Recently, the superstructure of pedestrian crossing No. 2 was mounted near the office building of MASH JSC. Before the mounting began, the superstructure was glazed, a drainback system and snow shields were installed.

By the end of 2023, 4 overground pedestrian crossings will be launched, which will decrease travel time along the Lobnenskoye Highway section due to the removal of temporary traffic light that has been installed in front of the office building of MASH JSC for the construction period.

The site improvement stage has begun. The fertile and top soil layer is being filled in and lawns are being seeded; today, the stage is 60% complete.

The utility lines work is almost complete: the construction of storm water sewer is 87% complete, of communication lines is 83% complete, cable lines (0.4-10 kV) is 80% complete, the Rosneft fuel supply line is being overhauled. At the same time, builders are installing noise screens; 145 m of the scheduled 188 m have already been completed.

Furthermore, the construction of a motor-road with a pavement actively continues (2,940 m out of 4,200 m have been completed), the existing ramps are being overhauled, the crushed stone and mastic asphalt concrete is being laid along the main road and ramps (115,415 m² out of 146,015 m² have been completed), the metal pedestrian restraint system is being installated on the dividing strip of the main road (270 lin m out of 2,722 lin m have been completed).

145 persons and 22 pieces of equipment are engaged at the construction site on a daily basis.

As a result of this project, the number of lanes will increase from 3 to 8. The Lobnya–Sheremetyevo Airport motor-road section reconstruction project is being implemented as part of an action plan aimed at developing the road network and improving transport accessibility between the transport districts of Lobnya and neighbouring districts in the view of a significant growth in urban development across the residential and industrial areas.
