Stroytransgaz passed the audit of the 2nd operating committee of the 2018 FIFA Russia Organizing Committee

During their second operating visit to Russia on September 1-11, experts from the International Football Federation FIFA reviewed the preparations for the 2018 World Cup.

The FIFA committee is composed of experts in preparation and holding of competitions, security, transport, logistics, hospitality services, television broadcasting, mass media services, health services, staff, marketing and ticketing programs.

Experts visited construction sites of five stadiums in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi and Kazan, finding out about the state of affairs at seven more stadiums virtually, having heard the reports.

STG representatives reported on the progress of constructing stadiums in Nizhny Novgorod and Volgograd to the 2018 FIFA Russia Organizing Committee. The schedule provides that the stadiums in Nizhny Novgorod and Volgograd will have to be ready by November 2017. However, FIFA officials have confirmed that December 2017 will make a convenient completion date for them. So, builders have a small margin of time. The main audit results - completion dates have been confirmed, the construction as a whole is performed as planned and on time.

Colin Smith, Director of FIFA Competitions Division and chief of 2018 FIFA Russia Organizing Committee, and Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko note that the preparations for the World Cup are made as planned, the stadiums will be ready on time, the FIFA has no complaints.

Situations on the stadiums

Andrey Ivanov, chief of Project Management Standards Control, who oversees the construction of a stadium in Nizhny Novgorod, and Sergey Kamin, chief of construction of a stadium in Volgograd, presented the results of their work to the 2018 FIFA Russia Organizing Committee, reported on the status of construction works.

Nizhny Novgorod

“Despite some difficulties, caused by weather conditions, we still proceed as planned,” says Andrey Ivanov, chief of Project Management Standards Control, who oversees the construction of the stadium in Nizhny Novgorod. He notes that meeting the deadlines will allow the company to comfortably enter the winter construction stage.

At this point, piling works on a stadium in Nizhny Novgorod are almost completed, builders install a foundation framework - monolithic slabs of the foundation. Builders are getting ready to mount vertical structures of the ground floor. In addition, there are designs, requiring final approval, taking into account new requirements to import substitution, as well as the task of developing detailed documentation for steel structures.

Volgograd

The works on a stadium in Volgograd are carried out 24/7. It is planned to complete installing monolithic structures on the foundation by the end of this month. Simultaneously, builders erect vertical structures (pillars) of the ground floor. In total, 80 pillars 8 meters high each will be put in place. In early October, they will begin installing engineering systems at the ground floor.

The FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia for the first time. From June 14 to July 15, 2018, the World Cup matches will be held at 12 stadiums of the country. Six games will be played at the stadium in Nizhny Novgorod, four matches - in Volgograd.
