Stroytransgaz Group Completes the Sea of Okhotsk Coast Protection Activities

Stroytransgaz completes improvement of the Portovoye Highway coast protection from Mayak Park to Morskoy pocket park in Magadan.

Thanks to the works performed, Magadan residents can enjoy an improved embankment in the Nagaev Bay which runs from the Mayak Park almost to Morskoy pocket park. The Mayak Park with its improved territory will become a landmark of the Far East.

The following scope of works has been completed by Stroytransgaz since 2021: development of design and detailed design documentation, obtaining of the positive opinion of the government expert review of design documentation and engineering surveys, completed construction and installation works, etc. All the documents meet the requirements set in the technical regulations, industrial safety requirements and laws of the Russian Federation.

The ground has been levelled, granite tiles with a non-slip coating have been laid. Redesign and improvement of underground and ground utilities – water, electricity and low-voltage supply systems – has been completed. A bicycle lane and children’s playground have been constructed.

‘We are completing Phase 2 of the embankment near Mayak’, - said Dmitry Uvarov, Chief Engineer of the Project Office of the Magadan Region.  - ‘The purpose of the project is to improve and landscape the embankment to create a comfortable urban space for recreation of residents in any season’.

Nagayev Bay is the most beautiful place in Magadan and the gateway to the Kolyma Territory. The embankments of the bay are one of the most popular recreation destinations for residents and guests of the city. Therefore, the improvement concept was developed based on the needs and requirements of residents. The works on this section of the coastal zone of Portovoye Highway will allow for combining a number of public spaces into a single complex. It will make a more comfortable urban environment, improve the quality of recreation and provide for a positive image of the city.
