In November 2011, STG entered into a subcontractor agreement with IFSK ARKS LLC for reconstruction of M-9 Baltia motorway. STG carried out construction and installation works at the section of M-9 Baltia which runs from the MKAD to the Small Moscow Ring (km 17+190 – km 50+016).
The Customer for the M-9 Baltia reconstruction project was FKU Centravtomagistral, Transstroimekhanizatsia LLC was the general contractor, IFSK ARKS LLC participated as a contractor to the project. In 2013, the STG Group entrusted Stroytransgaz LLC with performance of the contract.
The 610 km long M-9 Baltia federal motorway runs from Moscow via Volokolamsk and further across the Tver and Pskov Regions all the way to the Latvian Border.
The motorway renovation project provided for bringing the road conditions in compliance with the existing standards, and increasing the number of traffic lanes so as to debottleneck the congested parts of the road. After reconstruction, the Novorizhskoye highway was expanded up to 10 traffic lanes (5 in each direction) up to Krasnogorskays transport junction, after it – to the point of intersection with the Small Ring – up to 8 lanes (4 in each direction). The maximum speed on the motorway increased up to 120 km per hour.
