Watch a new video report on the construction of onshore and offshore infrastructure facilities in Gelendzhik. A modern passenger port will be built here, it will be able to handle passenger vessels, small-size motor vessels, and sailing vessels of various classes. The facilities are built as part of the Development of Russia’s Transportation System governmental programme.


Infrastructure facilities will include a passenger terminal with a berth for passenger vessels with a draught up to 5.9 meters, a length of up to 142.13m and a passenger capacity of up to 940 people, a yacht marina, fencing and coast protection hydraulic structures, a passenger terminal building with a passenger checkpoint across the state border of the Russian Federation, etc. The port infrastructure is being created as part of the new tourist and recreational zone in Gelendzhik and will be able to handle at least 19,600 passengers a year.

The key event of the last month was the scheduled completion of the South Breakwater with a length of 806.5 m – one of the two hydraulic structures that protect the water area from sea waves and form the marina itself. Now, the installation of utility networks is underway here. The construction of a superstructure is in progress on the North Breakwater with a length of 120.3 m.

4 berths are actively being built. Two of them are already being prepared for area improvement. The installation of utility networks is also starting on one of the berths.

The landscaping of a bulk artificial land plot with an area of 0.94 hectares is nearing completion.   A slipway – a lowering and lifting structure for ships – has been completed.

Thanks to the well-coordinated work of our own workforce ahead of schedule, the construction of utility network channels is underway within the boundaries of the bank protection site.

Artificial Land Plot

Preparations are in full swing for landscaping within the boundaries of the development area, the terms for the supply of engineering equipment and components have been determined to ensure full-scale connection of the facility to the utility networks for the capital construction facility.

Dredging operations are now being carried out to increase the sea depth inside and near the marina, and, consequently, to ensure easy passage of vessels in the future. Once dredging operations are complete, the maximum depth will be minus 7.5 meters.

Background:

The Russian Federation Government has approved the Concept for Yacht Tourism Development in the Russian Federation till 2030. The main objectives of the Concept are: development of the yacht tourism industry; development of a modern comfortable tourist infrastructure centred around the yacht tourism facilities; increasing the investment attractiveness of the coastal zone, based on new yacht tourism recreational facilities: ensuring the availability of yacht tourism in the Russian Federation.
