Stroytransgaz Completed Building MRI and Angiography Units in Moscow and Moscow Region

Under the project, Stroytransgaz have completed a set of activities from development of design documentation, overhaul of facilities where equipment will be located, to delivery, setup and commissioning of medical equipment, including personnel training.

State-of-the-art MRI units are equipped at the Vladimirsky Moscow Regional Research Clinical Institute, Moscow Regional Centre for Maternal and Child Healthcare in Lyubertsy, Lyubertsy Regional Hospital, Korolyov Regional Hospital and Moscow Regional Children's Clinical Traumatology and Orthopaedic Hospital. The tomographs installed provide a high-resolution image, which will make it possible to diagnose minor tumours and pathological changes, reduce examination time, hence patients will receive timely care and diagnostics that will aid in recovery later. Medical specialists have received the necessary training to operate the new MRIs.

Angiography units have been set up at Vladimirsky Moscow Regional Research Clinical Institute and Orekhovo-Zuevo Central City Hospital. With the help of angiography systems, doctors can identify many pathologies, such as narrowing of blood vessels, aneurysms of blood vessels, malformations related to cardiovascular diseases, and perform a wide range of operations on leg vessels, heart, brain etc. The new generation state-of-the-art angiography systems installed produce high-quality images not only in 2D, but also in 3D format for the entire range of operations on the heart and vessels. The systems are provided with innovative software that will significantly reduce levels of exposure of patients and personnel to radiation, and improve of quality of healthcare.

"The angiography system is the core of the regional vascular centre in Orekhovo-Zuevo hospital," said Svetlana Strigunkova, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Moscow Region. The regional vascular centre of the Orekhovo-Zuevo hospital, will be able to provide emergency medial service not only to the residents of Orekhovo-Zuevo district, but also to those from other districts east of Moscow.

With MRI technology, diagnostics can provide a detailed picture of what the condition of the internal organs and tissues is without surgery. Angiography is an X-ray examination of blood vessels. Applications include radiography, hybrid operating rooms and CT scanning. This method can be applied to investigate the functional condition of blood vessels, blood flow and extent of pathology.

It should be noted that nowadays it is extremely important to pay attention to health and timely diagnostics. With state-of-the-art high-tech medical equipment, diseases can be detected at an early stage, diagnosed more accurately, and treated more effectively.
