Aboveground Crossing Overpass Superstructure Installed at Lobnenskoye Highway

As part of the reconstruction of the Lobnenskoye Highway near Terminal B of the Sheremetyevo Airport, installation of the overpass superstructure of the aboveground crossing No. 4 has been completed. The work is performed by the Stroytransgaz Group as part of the national project “Safe and High-Quality Motorways.”

“Prior to the installation, the passage was glazed, and the installation of the structure of more than 20 metre in length was carried out at night so as not to interfere with traffic near the airport. The total weight of the steel overpass superstructures is over 17 tons. In the near future, the builders will begin the installation of another passage – at a pedestrian crossing near the village of Nosovo. In general, as part of the reconstruction on the Lobnenskoye Highway, four aboveground crossings will be built, which will ensure safe and comfortable movement of pedestrians and will be equipped with access for people with mobility impairments,” – said Alexey Gerzhik, Minister of Transport of the Moscow Region.

At the same time, at the reconstruction site, construction of the left side of the 25 m long bridge across the Meshcherikha River is being completed, asphalt concrete pavement will be laid in the near future. Further, installation of pavement and local treatment facilities and modification of utilities are being carried out. The execution of the project will increase the capacity of the Lobnenskoye Highway, reduce travel time from Lobnya towards the Sheremetyevo Airport and back by 30 minutes, improve transport accessibility of Chashnikovo and Nosovo villages, and provide access to residential areas and industrial enterprises.

The total length of the reconstructed section is 3 km along the main road and about 6 km with allowance made for side passageways. The roadway is to be widened from 4 to 7 lanes. That said, lighting and noise barriers will be installed and sidewalks and public transport stops will be equipped along the Lobnenskoye Highway.
