Museum and Theatre Complex

The Siberian cultural and educational complex is a successful example of a comprehensive solution to the problem of creating a cultural environment and increasing attractiveness for young people. Such assessment of the work performed by the builders was given by journalists as part of a press tour dedicated to the issuance of a permit for commissioning the dormitory of the Siberian Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts (a branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts in Kemerovo).

“In Kuzbass, the final phase of creating modern student complexes is now underway. These are universal youth spaces where children will study, and spend non-school hours in an interesting and useful manner. The new dormitory is the most comfortable and multifunctional space. Students from Kuzbass, Tomsk, Abakan, Biysk, Nizhny Tagil, Sochi, Novosibirsk, Izhevsk, St. Petersburg, Barnaul, Krasnoyarsk, Kazan, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and China will come here in the near future. Of 85 students who are currently studying at the Siberian branch of RGISI, 57 are from other cities, they have chosen Kuzbass for education, and this is a high assessment of the work we are doing to increase the attractiveness of universities and the quality of life in the region,” Governor Sergey Tsivilev emphasized.

House for Teaching Staff

The 7-storey dormitory for 240 people is 100% ready. Each room is designed for 2 people, and each student will be provided with an individual dressing room. Asphalt was laid near the dormitory, and a huge modern sports ground with the area of ​​10,297 sq.m. was installed.

The cultural complex also solves the problem of providing housing for teachers of branches of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts, the Moscow State Academy, Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts. Construction readiness of a 17-storey residential building with 159 apartments is 99%. All construction and installation works have been completed, apartments and public areas are undergoing the contractor’s acceptance procedure. Furniture has been delivered to the floors, assembly is in progress.

Landscaping near the RGISI Building and the Museum Depository

Students and teachers are looking forward to the completion of the campus of the Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts (branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts in Kemerovo). Its overall construction readiness is 90%. Interior finishing is underway along with ceilings and walls painting, flooring laying, and installation of prefabricated interior stained-glass windows. Installation of internal utility networks and systems continues.

The Repository of the Kemerovo Regional Museums of Fine Arts with restoration centres is 97% completed. Installation of engineering equipment of internal utilities, commissioning, finishing works are nearing completion.

The construction readiness of the museum and theatre complex (MTEC) is 24%.
Formwork assembly and concrete acceptance (from the second to the fourth floor) are underway. In total, 46,000 cu.m of concrete have been received.  
Installation of load-bearing steel structures on the first floors of the Russian Museum and the Cinema and Concert Complex is at active pace.

Kitchen in an Apartment Building for the Teaching Staff

On the site for the construction of an apartment building for performing artists, work on the provision of data for the development of technical and economic indicators (TEI) is underway. The construction site has been fenced, household wagons installed, and a bypass road backfilled. The base for crane tracks has been prepared.

As part of the Siberian Cultural Complex construction project by Stroytransgaz-Siberia JSC, the following venues will be built in Kemerovo: Opera and Ballet Theatre (a branch of the State Academic Mariinsky Theatre); Museum and Exhibition Centre (a branch of the Russian Museum); Kuzbass Centre of Arts with a Cinema and Concert Complex (designed by Coop Himmelb(l)au, Austria); Siberian Campus of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts with the Creative Industries School and a dormitory; Museum depository with a restoration centre; 2 buildings to accommodate educators and performing artists.

Already built and commissioned are: A branch of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography with a boarding school; The Siberian branch of the Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts with a dormitory; School with two swimming pools.
