Social and Cultural Projects Fund “National Cultural Heritage” and Stroytransgaz JSC have signed contracts for design and survey works, construction of cultural, educational and museum complexes. The Fund was established by the Mariinsky Theatre, the State Hermitage, the Tretyakov Gallery and the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.

​The task to create new cultural centres was set by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, in his Address to the Federal Assembly in 2018 and specified in the Executive Order “On National Goals and Strategic Objectives of the Russian Federation for the period to 2024”. Being one of the priority goals within national “Culture” project, creation of the cultural, educational and museum complexes will allow the region to reveal its cultural and educational opportunities, arrange modern cultural space in the entire territory of Russia, change life quality of the residents through art introduction and, at the same time, make these cities particularly attractive for tourists.

The construction of the clusters will become one of the largest cultural projects of the recent years. The results of projects implemented by the company will include new dance academies, branches of art schools, branches of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres, the Russian Museum and the Tretyakov gallery, concert halls, museums and exhibition spaces, as well as modern infrastructure for comfortable living and work of actors, professionals, students and teachers. Caring for talent is the key to the successful functioning of cultural centres.

In Vladivostok two sites are allocated for buildings of the educational and cultural museum complex: on the Orlinoye Gnezdo (Eagles Nest) bald peak (Aksakovskaya street) and Russky island, the total build-up area is more than 140,000 sq. m.

The Orlinoye Gnezdo bald peak, the highest point of the historic part of the city, will host the Museum Centre, the Concert Hall of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre and the branch of an art high school.

The Museum Centre will bring together the work of the leading Russian museums – the Tretyakov Gallery, the State Hermitage, the Russian Museum and the Museum of the East, as well as regional and international partners. The building, which will house exhibition space of more than 3 thousand meters, equipped with the restoration and research facility, as well as an educational centre with workshops for painting, drawing, sculpture, is planned in accordance with modern requirements for museum technologies. Public spaces – lobbies on several floors of the building – will become a venue for concerts, discussions, lectures and other events. A universal cinema projection hall capable to show filmed movies is planned as well.

The Concert Hall of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre is designed with the participation of musicians and theatre management with account of requirements for acoustics. The building with a total area of ​​17 thousand square meters will house two halls – for 950 seats and 200 seats.

The third part of the complex is the building of a new art high school for 300 students.

Russky island will host the Dance Academy and residential space for 250 students, the secondary special musical school, which includes an educational centre with a dining room and a swimming pool for 550 people, the educational building for 300 people, a boarding school for 250 people, a hostel for students.

In Kaliningrad the construction will be carried out on the Western and Eastern sites of Oktyabrsky Island. There will be a branch of the Bolshoi Theatre for 950 seats, the branch of the art high school, the museum complex of the Tretyakov Gallery, the educational building of the dance academy. A general education school with swimming pool for 550 students, residential spaces for students of the choreographic academy and secondary special music school will be constructed as well. The total build-up area will exceed 120,000 square meters.

In Kemerovo an “Art Quarter” will appear, which will allow the region to become a cultural centre of Siberia. The complex will include a branch of the Russian Museum, the Storage Facility for Museums of Fine Arts of Kemerovo region, the Opera and Ballet House for 950 seats, the cinema complex “Kuzbass Art Centre”, a branch of the art high school, with the educational theatre for 300 students and a hostel for 240 students. An educational complex will be built as well; the complex will include: the Dance Academy, a music school and boarding schools for pupils with sports grounds. The build-up area will exceed 110,000 square meters.

The dates for commissioning of the listed facilities, determined by the RF Governments, are still valid.
