GKU (State Public Institution) of Arkhangelsk region "Main Capital Construction Directorate"
2020-2021 гг.
In February 2020, Stroytransgaz JSC (STG) entered into two state contracts for the adjustment of design documentation for capital construction projects “Construction of sewer networks and sewers, sewage treatment works in the village Solovetsky” and “Construction and reconstruction of the water supply system in the village Solovetsky”. The customer is the State Public Institution of Arkhangelsk region “Main Capital Construction Directorate”.
The water supply of Solovetsky village is centralized. The source of water supply for the village is the lake-channel hydroengineering system of the Big Solovetsky Island, built back in the 16th century. The existing water supply networks of the village are in disrepair due to wear and tear.
The cast-iron pipelines available in the village are damaged due to big external static imposed and dynamic loads. Water runs out from the pipeline through cracks and ruptures in the connecting joints of the pipes, washing away the soil around. This may result in big sinkholes, accompanied by the destruction of buildings and utility systems. Also, the escaping water, making it into groundwater, raises its level, which may cause impoundment of substructures of centuries-old buildings.

The design documentation will provide for the optimal and most economically viable solution for restoring the sewer and water supply system to serviceable condition. Adjustment of design documentation stipulates a replacement of water supply and sewerage networks with more advanced and high-quality ones using leading edge technologies.
The work package of STG for the adjustment of design documentation includes:

In the performance of work involving updating of design documentation, STG JSC will take into account the provisions of the Convention* for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, which contains rules and procedures for the protection and preservation of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Also, account will be taken of UNESCO requirements received during the procedure involving assessment of the impact of the construction works on the federally significant cultural heritage site “The ensemble of the Solovetsky Monastery and individual structures of the islands of the Solovetsky Archipelago, XVI century - the first half of the XX century”, the boundaries of the protection zones of which are approved by an Order of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation No. 2333 dated 12.24.2013.
* In this case it is noteworthy that, according to the position of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, an expert assessment of the possible impact of construction or general labor works on the outstanding universal value of the World Heritage Site shall be given in the development of any design proposal related to the performance of such work on the premises of the world heritage site or its protective zone.
