Russian Museum Representatives Visit Construction Site of Museum, Theatre and Education Complex Museum, Theatre and Education Complex in Kemerovo

The construction progress was inspected by the Head of the Cultural Exhibition Centre Relations Department of the State Russian Museum Ayla Aristova and the Director of Kemerovo Branch of Russian Museum Yelena Mitrofanova.

STG-Sibir Construction Department Superintendent Konstantin Ilkin presented the construction site to the guests. The Museum, Theatre and Education Complex or MTEC (31% complete) is becoming more and more impressive. Its highest point is 24 metres already. Formwork assembly and delivery of concrete (a total of 56,000 m3), and installation of load-bearing structural steel (3,019 tonnes to date) are ongoing. Construction of brick partition walls in the basement is in progress.

The main components of the load-bearing frame of Kemerovo MTEC are 2 reinforced concrete structures and 1 metal structure. To speed up the construction and improve performance at such a unique site as MTEC, contractors from OOO TD ZMK tasked with installation of structural steel have purchased two Chinese truck-mounted XCMG XG80 cranes of 80 t capacity each, and an XCMG XG320 crane of 320 t capacity, to enable installation of oversized metal structures at high elevations with extended boom reach.

During the inspection

‘People of Kuzbass are inspired by the increased speed of the construction’, Yelena Mitrofanova said. – The Museum and Theatre Complex, and the Siberian Cultural Cluster as a whole, are an attraction point for the regional population, an opportunity to engage themselves in the global cultural processes taking place in the country.  I believe that Russian art plays an especially important role in this process, as our cultural heritage can tell us so many important things about who we are and where we came from.’
