Construction of the Dormitory for Students of the Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts Is Completed

Construction of a dormitory for the Siberian Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts, branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts (RGISI), has been completed in Kemerovo.

The 7-storey dormitory for 240 people is almost ready to accommodate students: furniture has been arranged, curtains have appeared on the windows, household appliances have been installed in the kitchen. 

Each room is designed for 2 people, and each student will be provided with an individual dressing room. There is a shared kitchen, a shower room and a WC for each two rooms. On each floor there are utility rooms for washing, drying and ironing linen. There are rooms for self-training, a medical unit with an isolation ward and a room for medical procedures. For people with limited mobility, an accessible environment is provided, including an electric lift.

Asphalt has been laid near the dormitory, a modern sports ground (area of 10,297 sq. m) has been arranged with fields for playing football, volleyball and basketball, as well as a high jump area and jogging tracks. The dormitory commissioning is planned for November 2022. 

The overall construction readiness of the campus of the Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts, branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts, is 86%. Installation of facade cassettes, painting of ceilings and walls, and tile laying are nearing completion. Internal finishing works are in progress. Installation of internal utility networks and systems continues. The work on the adjacent territory improvement has been completed.

Construction of a dormitory for the branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts has been completed

The construction readiness of the multi-apartment 17-storey residential building for teachers of the branch of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography, RGISI branch and the Special School of Music (159 apartments) is 95%. Premise finishing is nearing completion, interior doors installation is in progress, installation of internal utility networks and systems has been completed. Furniture is already being assembled on the floors.

The Repository of the Kemerovo Regional Museums of Fine Arts with restoration centres is 97% completed. Start-up and commissioning, installation of internal utility networks are underway, finishing works are nearing completion.

The construction readiness of the museum and theatre complex (Kuzbass Centre of Arts) is 23%. The activities associated with formwork construction and acceptance of concrete for cast in-situ structures of the first and second floors are in progress; 41,276 cubic meters of concrete have already been accepted. The installation of load-bearing metal structures is being carried out at a brisk pace. 

Background:

As part of the Siberian Cultural Complex construction project by Stroytransgaz-Siberia JSC, the following venues will be built in Kemerovo: Opera and Ballet Theatre (a branch of the State Academic Mariinsky Theatre); Museum & Exhibition Centre (a branch of the Russian Museum); Kuzbass Centre of Arts with a Cinema and Concert Complex (designed by Coop Himmelb(l)au, Austria); Siberian Campus and Dormitory of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts, including the Creative Industries School; Museum depository with a restoration centre; 2 buildings to accommodate educators and performing artists. 

Already built and commissioned are: A branch of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography with a boarding school; the Siberian Branch of the Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts with a boarding school and a comprehensive school with 2 swimming pools.

The construction of the Kemerovo Complex project started in 2019.
