Deputy Governor of Kursk Region Aleksandr Churkin, representatives of administration and construction companies of the region visited the construction site of the Museum and Theatre Educational Complex in Kemerovo. Construction experience of Stroytransgaz GC, success in implementing large-scale projects, good quality and timely work completion are the things that draw attention from the heads of the RF constituents. The delegation arrived in Kuzbass upon invitation of Governor Sergey Tsivilev.

The Museum and Theatre Educational Complex in Kemerovo is one of the largest construction projects in the region and is unique for the country as a whole. Four such complexes are simultaneously under construction in Russia for the first time, and include the branches of the Great and Mariinsky Theatres, Russian Museum and Tretyakov Gallery, concert halls, museum and exhibition spaces, as well as branches of leading arts higher eduction institutions. These are located in Vladivostok, Kaliningrad, Kemerovo and Sevastopol. In Kemerovo, the “Art Quarter” will appear, which will allow the region to become a cultural centre of Siberia.

The purpose of the visit is to adopt successful experience in implementing large-scale construction projects, since Kursk Region plans to build facilities that have no equivalents in the region so far. The delegation from Kursk Region travelled about 4 thousand kilometres to visit the Siberian Cluster. The guests were escorted by Deputy Governor of Kemerovo Region for Construction Gleb Orlov and Construction Minister Irina Pecherkina. Evgeniy Alekseev, Director for Economic Affairs and Finance of Stroytransgaz-Siberia JSC told the guests about the project’s features.

The guests visited the High School of Musical and Theatrical Arts (Siberian Campus of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts with Art Industries School). The educational building of the institute is unique in its layout: it is noted for nonstandard internal multilevel spaces, stained glass windows (they take the area of over 3000 square metres, while the total area of the facade is over 8,000 square metres). Such structure provides a feeling of unlimited space, abundance of air and light. The effect is strengthened by two light wells, due to which maximum access to natural lighting from all three storeys of the building is achieved.

Delegation Inspects the Facility

The delegation members noted visual lightness of spiral staircase structures that do not optically reduce the volume of the campus foyer, the total area of which is 700 square metres. The guests inspected the classrooms with interest. The students are provided with small rooms (for individual and group classes), with open spaces (library, rest zones) and lecture rooms that have a total area of 450 square metres. Most classrooms are separated from recreation areas with glass partitions instead of conventional walls (the total area of glazing is 1,500 square metres, other 580 square metres are added by glass partitions of the staircases, which the journalists already call “lace-type” staircases).

Special attention was paid to inspection of the training theatre, audience hall finish, operation of mechanisms of the intricately arranged rotating stage.

As a result of the visit, Deputy Governor of Kursk Region Aleksandr Churkin thanked Stroytransgaz GC for consultation and noted that the visit to Kuzbass resolved a number issues concerning the construction of the future cultural facilities in Kursk. He also noted that the projects of Stroytransgaz-Siberia JSC had been described by the Kuzbass Government as most intricate and successfully implemented. It is expected that they will become one of the visiting cards of the capital of Kemerovo Region.
