Construction of one of the four unique cultural and educational complexes in Russia, being built in Kaliningrad, Kemerovo, Vladivostok and Sevastopol under instruction of Vladimir Putin, the President, continues on Oktyabrsky Island. For residents and guests of the Amber Region, Stroytransgaz Group is building branches of the Bolshoi Theatre and the Tretyakov Gallery, as well as the branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts – the Baltic Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts.

At the construction site of the Baltic Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts (a branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Art), the monolithic frame of the building is being completed. The architectural concept involves a stepped shape symmetrically tapering towards the top. The building’s facades, which will consist entirely of glass and suspended wall cassettes made of Corten steel, will add subtlety and simplicity to the building. At the moment, 95% of the building’s bearing structures are ready. Inside the building, construction of interior partitions is in progress on all the floors.

Building of the Baltic Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts

The load-bearing monolithic frame of the main part of the Bolshoi Theatre Branch building is 50% complete and has reached the elevation of 11.8 meters. The construction of the local wastewater treatment plant next to the building continues – the pile field was completed this month. Also at the construction site of the Opera and Ballet Theatre delivery of steel structures was started for construction of the 80-meter cantilever, the total weight of which is 6.5 tons. Dmitry Rzhannikov, General Director of STG-Zapad LLC states: “We have studied the market and it was decided that we’ll manufacture lightweight structures in our region. During January local manufacturers have already made the first delivery of steel structures. To manufacture more complex curved structures, we have engaged a large factory located in the Moscow region. Their shipment is planned for April of this year. To avoid delivery delays, we have already chartered ships in line with our needs.”

In total, more than four thousand square meters of lining materials have been laid. On the 50-meter administrative tower, multifunctional double-glazed windows are installed on the mounted frame. The total area of stained glass glazing will be 2.4 thousand square metres.  Active construction of the building’s exterior utility networks and laying of internal utilities are underway.

More than 1,200 people and 39 pieces of equipment, including seven tower cranes, work at the construction of the three facilities of the cultural and educational complex.
