STG-Vostok Takes Part in City-wide Community Cleanup Day

Cleaning of Russky Island coastal area

STG-Vostok Company specialists took part in a community cleanup day event.  The workers faced a real challenge — to clean three sites on Russky Island coastal area in Pospelov settlement. This location is very popular in summer, and many urban citizens come here to spend time on the coast. The local church is nearby, and a construction materials warehouse of STG-Vostok is located by the coast.

Around 30 STG employees joined the locals during the city-wide community cleanup day. Among them were painters, carpenters, stonemasons, riggers, fitters, maintenance technicians, batching plant operators, company managers and members of local municipal administration.
‘This was a multinational team. People from various regions of Russia, as well as from Kyrgyzstan, are involved in the Culture and Education Complex construction project. At the local administration’s request, we cleaned up three sites in the coastal area — in the vicinity of Pospelov street on Russky Island. There was a lot of litter left by holiday-goers — at the pier, on the picturesque sea coast dozens of cans, bottles, packs littered the ground. 10 rubber tires were collected on one site only. We worked the entire day, and removed more than 30 large trash bags from the sites’,says Nikita Savchuk, STG-Vostok HSE expert.

Viktoria Radkova, the lead HSE specialist, says that initially the local administration asked to clean the coast only, but seeing the effectiveness of the STG team, they later kindly requested the employees to help with other sites — at the church, and at a roadside empty lot.
It took several hours to clean up the area near Pospelov street on Russky Island, but it is expected to stay pristine for a long period of time.
