Top Management’s Field Visit to the MTEC Construction Site in Kaliningrad

In the first week of May, Dmitry Lebedev, General Director of Stroytransgaz JSC, and Aleksey Povalyaev, Deputy General Director for Industrial and Civil Construction at Stroytransgaz JSC, visited Oktyabrsky Island in Kaliningrad, where one of the four cultural and educational complexes is being built.

The meeting was attended by Dmitry Rzhannikov, General Director of STG-Zapad LLC, Aleksandr Berest, Head of the Construction Directorate Branch of the National Cultural Heritage Foundation for Social and Cultural Projects in Kaliningrad, as well as representatives of the main contractor. In the course of the visit, Mr. Lebedev inspected the construction progress with regard to the Branches of the Bolshoi theatre and the Tretyakov Gallery, as well as the Baltic Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts – a branch of the Russian State Institute of Dramatic Arts (RGISI). Issues to be solved with the involvement of the parent company were also discussed.

Dmitry Rzhannikov, General Director of STG-Zapad LLC, stated: “The complex construction is proceeding at the given pace, allowing us to meet the planned deadlines for the facilities. We have entered into supply contracts for materials and equipment with a certain time reserve to avoid problems with logistics in the region. With such a large-scale construction, we face certain challenges, but we quickly handle them on our own or together with colleagues from Moscow.”

Oktyabrsky Island Construction Site

By now, false walls of exhibition rooms with a total area exceeding four thousand square meters have been almost completed in the building of the Tretyakov Gallery Branch. Active work is underway to close the outer perimeter of the facade and complete the interior decoration. Utility systems are being installed. A monolithic frame of the building is being erected at a level of 22 meters and its readiness has reached 70% at the site of the Bolshoi Theatre Branch. Installation of utility systems is underway in the building of the RGISI Branch.

- Tretyakov Gallery Branch — 14 exhibition halls with a total area of 4.4 thousand square meters;
- Opera and Ballet Theatre (Branch of the Bolshoi Theatre) – a large audience space with 950 seats, a small audience space with 300 seats;
- Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts (Branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts) for 150 seats.
