Video Overview of the Siberian Cultural and Educational Centre Construction Progress

The Branch of the Russian State Institute of Dramatic Arts – Lobby

Though it still snows sometimes in Kuzbass, May is a hot month for the Siberian Cultural and Educational Complex: active preparations are underway for commissioning of the Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts (Siberian campus of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts with the School of Creative Industries).

Lecture Hall 

The building of the Higher School of Music and Dramatic Arts has a high degree of completeness – around 98%. Inside, the finishing work is nearing completion, with 2,420 square metres of translucent glass partitions 100% completed.

 
The classrooms have already been fitted with 11,200 sq. m of flooring, and AC units, and the furniture is currently being assembled. Assembly and installation of equipment in the gym are in progress. A total of 66 pieces of equipment will be installed (including choreography equipment, basketball boards, scoreboards, gates, mats, benches, etc.). 221 out of 229 rooms have been handed over for installation of equipment.

Educational Theatre Stage

 The Branch of the Russian State Institute of Dramatic Arts – Gym

The construction of the museum and theatre complex is also underway (it is 32% completed). Its highest point is 31.5 metres already. Formwork assembly and delivery of concrete (a total of 57,300 m3), and installation of load-bearing steel structures (3,250 tonnes to date) are ongoing. We have started installing partitions on the first and second floors of the Branches of the Russian Museum and the Kuzbass Centre of Arts.

Museum and Theatre Complex

A piling field is being prepared for the construction of an apartment building for theatre staff. 144 piles have been driven (50% of the scope).

Background:

As part of the Siberian Cultural Complex construction project by Stroytransgaz-Siberia, the following facilities will be built in Kemerovo: Opera and Ballet Theatre (a Branch of the State Academic Mariinsky Theatre); Museum and Exhibition Centre (a Branch of the Russian Museum); Kuzbass Centre of Arts with a Cinema and Concert Complex (designed by Coop Himmelb(l)au, Austria); Siberian Campus of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts with the School of Creative Industries; residential building for performing artists.

Already built and commissioned are: Branch of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography with a boarding school; Siberian Branch of the Central Music School — Academy of Dramatic Arts with a boarding school; a comprehensive school with two swimming pools; the Campus of the Siberian Branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts with a stadium; Museum Depository with a restoration centre; residential building for teaching staff.

The construction of the Kemerovo complex project started in 2019.
