General View of the Cultural and Educational Complex

In Vladivostok, the 90 thousand square meters Cultural and Educational Complex on Russky Island is built. Educational building of the Central Music School branch – the final building of the Complex – got the Gosstroynadzor's certificate of conformity and the commissioning permit. Now the institutions are about to start preparing for the school year

Along with this, the construction of the Museum and Theatre complex on the Orlinoye Gnezdo Hill is in progress. The elevation of 45 meters above ground level has been reached and vertical and horizontal reinforced concrete cast-in-place structures are now arranged.

The educational complex in Vladivostok includes nine buildings: Branches of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography and the Central Music School named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, a comprehensive school with two swimming pools, two boarding houses for students, a dormitory for students from the Branch of the Russian State Institute of Dramatic Arts (RGISI), as well as three apartment buildings with fully furnished apartments for teachers and artists.

Complex’s site improvement

“In Vladivostok, an educational complex on Russky Island has been completed. It is part of the cultural cluster created based on instructions from the Russian President. Now the institutions are about to start preparing for the school year. About 550 students from different regions of this country will be able to study here using budget funds. Earlier, studies have already begun in the educational buildings of cultural complexes in Kaliningrad and Kemerovo, designed for 600 students,” said Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

Construction of a cast-in-place frame of the Museum and Theatre Complex

A cast-in-place frame of the Museum and Theatre Complex is under heavy construction at Orlinoye Gnezdo Hill, the second STG-Vostok site. Installation of vertical and horizontal structures is in progress, more than 45 thousand cubic meters of concrete has been cast. The elevation of 45 meters above the ground has been reached in the museum section, installation of the stairs has been started. In the theater segment, vertical and horizontal reinforced concrete structures are dynamically being built, with a height of 6 meters from ground level. A sloped slab of over 1,000 square meters is being constructed from the building to the roof. Specifically, the company began casting the steps.

 

Background:

Stroytransgaz-Vostok, at the commission of the National Cultural Heritage Foundation for Social and Cultural Projects, as mandated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, is building a cultural and educational complex in Vladivostok. The construction is underway at two sites.

Preparatory works to hand over the facilities of Russia’s largest campus of culture and education institutions at Russky Island to users are underway: Branches of the Moscow State Choreography Academy and the Central School of Music, the Educational Centre with the canteen and the swimming pool, boarding schools for students, the dormitory for RGISI students, as well as three apartment buildings for teachers and performing artists will be located there.

The second site of the culture and education cluster is located on the Orlinoye Gnezdo Hill, the highest point in the historical part of Vladivostok. This large-scale complex will accommodate Branches of the State Hermitage, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Oriental Arts, Russian State Institute of Performing Arts, School of Creative Industries, and the Mariinsky Theatre’s stage.

In addition to the capital of the Primorye Territory, Stroytransgaz Group is building cultural and educational complexes in three more Russian cities. The projects are adapted to domestic conditions and standards by the design organisation GORKA Group.
